I found Lunch Queen Chinese DVD subtitles(ripped out) in idx and sub format.
What I found out is that VobSub has a subresynch program so the translator will only need to translate the drama, so that timing is already done. Or Subrip does it too.
It's best for a Chinese subtitler since they can directly translate from the subtitle files,
The file is in winrar format and the contents are in 2 epsiode per subtitle file, but once its translated, someone can easily split the file using Subtitle Workshop or something.
Use a downloader to get this file since its from a chinese server:
http://www.shooter.com.cn/?subid=13371&mirror=local
It's 5mb or so, does anyone know how to change the timing in the idx file to the srt format, so we don't need to deal with the character files?
Anyone who knows chinese well is interested? I unfort only know basic chinese, not advanced enough.

The reason I posted the Chinese subs is so anyone whose planning to sub this series don't have to worry about timing. It'll take much less time.
Here's the info:
http://jdorama.com/drama.606.htm
It's an all star cast, and also it's on the top JDrama list in jdorama.com
Does anyone know how to convert idx, sub to srt format, which I think is easier to deal with?

guys, anyone knows how to extract the chinese characters out to srt format?
i know how to use subrip and extract normal abc letters and save to a srt file but no knowledge on chinese characters? i mean is there another way beside subrip application which would mean typing letter by letter for extraction?
im hoping to get this translated and sync it to the raws on d-addicts.

If your plan is to translate to English, then don't bother as there already exist a version done by a fansub group here on D-Addicts.
Otherwise, if you just want to extract the subtitles for other translation, then check this out --> List of Tutorials / Guides / How To's_________________ D-Addicts is like a library: Most of the resources are there, you just have to search around!
