| I'm very stunned. I have always believed he would be killed by an alligator, a poisonous snake, or a vicious beast or something. Not a stingray. If it hasn't strike him at the heart, he would have a chance of survival. That's very sad, though.

| It is such a shame that The Croc Hunter did die. Stingray barb to the chest and later died from a heart attack due to it. I didn't know that he was well known around the world as much as he is in Australia here...

It's really sad. I always thought he was kind of crazy, but he clearly enjoyed what he was doing.
Steve Irwin was very well known and popular here in the U.S. I think you would have had a hard time finding Americans who hadn't heard of him even before this tragedy.
