This is a little known school drama that aired the Fall of 2004 against the big name casts of Last Christmas and Mother and Lover. To be honest though, I found this drama much more interesting than the other two...

Unlike other school dramas, this one takes place in what's basically evening high school equivalency classes, so most of the students are full-grown adults who bring a different spin to your everyday school drama problems. But like any other school drama, each gets resolved in its own happy way... Mr. Green

As usual, I make no claims on being anywhere even remotely near fluent (or even conversant) in Japanese, so if there are any glaring mistakes, please let me know. Also, please let me know if the timings are wonky b/c my computer has been having a lot of slowdown issues lately when playing videos, so it's hard to get good verification. Glare

I've been sitting on the first 4 episodes for a couple months now, but it takes me awhile to find time to actually sit down to work on this. At the rate I'm going, this will probably take me another year to complete, but as long as this site is around I won't drop it... Laugh

Side note:
One of the side jokes/references that didn't translate well was the play off of "Medaka's school", which is the title of a fairly well-known song from the 60's or 70's.

In ep 9, an "onsen" is a hot spring...

I watched this series when it was showing on cable
without understanding what anyone was saying
and liked it (and became a fan of Mimura).

I'm glad subtitles are being made,
and I hope someone will seed the series so I'll be able to use them...

Wow this drama was(still) one of my favourites and the theme is great. Great drama and really thanks for the subs thumright

I always wondered why no one actually was never interested in subbing it, just like another great drama M no Higeki.
