I prefer long but if long hair doesn't go with her figure or face then...which ever look great

Me... even though i'm a female i'd rather haveLONG HAIR, Why personally I like it when i'm able to have a new Hair style. I love girls with long hair...as a guy who had long hair it was kinda bad when you lay in bed and you hair gets all tangled with hers (and yes it has/does happen) But I would have to vary my answer based upon the girl....the length that I find attractive.

and for some reason there are only few girls that I find incredible hot with short hair and one of them is Ito Misaki...(from Densha Otoko) wonder why?

i think the length depends more on the frame of her face. Like some girls look better with short and some with long do to that.

I used to prefer short haired women but now I prefer those with not so long but not so short hair. But I agree with the post above that the length of the hair may look nice for a certain girl but not for another.
