What dramas have good soundtracks?

Are you asking about dramas in general or just Japanese dramas? If this is for general recommendations, I'm tossing this into the General Discussion forum to get a better range/mix... If you mean Jdramas, I hope ppl will at least ID which ones on their lists aren't from Jdramas... ^_^;;;;

Also, are you asking about the actual OSTs which are mostly comprised of instrumentals and the like, or just theme songs?

These are some picks based on OSTs as a whole (not just the theme songs)
I think most ppl like the soundtracks for Love Generation and Long Vacation (mostly istrumentalized Cagnet songs). They're mostly pretty upbeat and pop jazzy...
Odoru Daisousassen has a really nice range of BGMs, as does Umizaru....

Beautiful Life
Sugao no mama de
Hoshi no Kinka
Ai wo ittekure

Hmm.... and there are a bunch of older ones that I think I like, but can't really remember if I do or not... :p

I love Taiyo no kisetsu OST but I only have the main theme (* o * kiseki) does anybody have it?? mainly the piano main theme? ó , o

anyway

What dramas have the best soundtracks? Do you mean the use of music within the show or just the music itself? I was never able to take the music out of the context of the show so here are my favorites -- for the best use of mysic within the show..

Long Vacation -- This is the one I measure other shows by and the first Japanese drama I saw.
Densha Otoko -- "Densha" would be #1 for me had I not watched Long Vacation first.
Kimi wa Petto
Beautiful Life
Itsumo Futari De -- The opening song was only so-so, but the rest of the music within the show was a winner for me.

I can't put Engine on this list becuase that pre-race theme always bothered me. Had they picked something better, it would be on my list, too.
