Hi all! Some of you guys may know me from the ancient anime fansubbing world of my past or from the shoujo manga scanslation I have been doing for the past few years... Although I have pretty much given up fansubbing, I have encountered a drama that I have been wanting to do with my manga group - Itazura na Kiss. We are currently scanslating the manga Smile

I have a rough translation done already for chapter 01, but we are seriously lacking in timers and the raws are from a VCD source (no DVD of this out in Japan that we could find), so they need a talented encoder to give a HQ source.

I would very much like to share this drama with everyone at d-addicts, but we need a little help to do so. If anyone is interested in helping with this let me know.

If I am posting in the wrong section of the forum also please let me know. I usually do not post much here, I am more of a lurker, but this drama is too good to keep me in lurkdom for long Smile

Siana from Shoujomagic right? I wish I was better with my nihongo - but I need a few more years before I can start translating. Smile Anyway, good luck! I read your release of Itazura na Kiss and I'd love to see it subbed. I know a lot of people will look forward to this if you can do it. Laugh

Hi! Yes! That's me - Siana from ShoujoMagic Smile Isn't the manga great!? The drama is also quite good and has a strong following. I am still really shocked it has not yet been released in English!

So far one person has messaged me privately regarding encoding, so if anyone else is interested in helping with this series that would be lovely.

Another person messaged me about translating so I thought that I should also reply here. Yes, we can always use help translating. The VCD source is Japanese, but there are also Chinese subs, if that helps.

Thanks so much for the interest you guys Smile

That's a very good news, Siana. Thanks for working on this project, I've always wanted to watch Itazura na Kiss after reading your manga scanlations. Too bad I can't help, but you will always have my fullest support, lol.

Hey Siana,

I saw the DVD just yesterday at shopktslab.com, but I am not sure about the quality, however, you could give it a try, maybe it has better quality picture that you want. Smile

I hope that helps.

Here's the link to the DVD. It's a lower quality DVD, meaning that its only got 400 lines as opposed to the usual 480 lines. This should be better than VCD though which is 352x240. And, if i read correctly, you can turn off the chinese subs. I'm not sure if this is possible with the chinese-subbed VCD version.

I'm considering picking this up, but I might get screwed on customs charges, seeing that I live in Canada, and they're located in the states. Sad

You CANNOT remove the Chinese subs from those sets. It says non-removable. It's quite possible that the VCD's were used to make these sets and the screen size changed, but I can't confirm that since I never bought one.

I know this is an old thread, but I've been wanting to watch this drama for a while, and it just occurred to me if you're still searching for a timer, Siana, I'd be happy to help.

I don't have that much experience with doing so, but I know my way around a suitable program, so if you're still planning on releasing subs, let me know.

Keep up the good work with the manga, too Wub
