That's weird. Exactly the same as the .avi file name right? And this is the only time the subs didn't work for you? The other subs work fine?

yep it's exactly the same as the .avi and all my other soft sub files work fine. i can't understand why it wont work. Sad
Aww. I'm sorry I can't help. I have no idea why it's not working.

I'll attach the one i renamed eventhough it's prolly exactly the same one you have but just in case XP just wanna help out.

nope still no subs. Crying

but thank you for trying to help! Big Smile

maybe if i watch it a couple hundred times i can figure out what they're saying.

Thank you sooooooooooooo much!!!!

Kelly: You have to rename the subs to "Hana Yori Dango Top Scenes-Trivia Special 11-19-2005.srt" It needs to be exactly the same as the .avi file name.

i did but still not working...

Thanks for the subs!

But I also can't see the subs like I always do with other .srt files. I did an experiment by opening the sub with notepad & usually subs should look like this:

Quote:
1
00:00:00,XXX --> 00:00:0X,XXX
Subtitle

Yet when I opened this one with notepad it looks like this: (I used screencaps cos when I copy & paste it, it became different again)

& when I try loading it with Subtitle Workshop, this is what I got:

I wonder if this have sth to do with the encoding....

I did another copy-and-paste work by opening the subs in my internet browser & found out that I have to change the encoding to UTF-16 to be able to view it correctly. So after changing the encoding, I copied the subs and replaced the one I have currently using notepad, saved it & now the subs IS working for me! Here's a ysi link if you want the subs

Download link

Edit: oops..I missed blossom's post!

i had the same problem you must read it with media player: your srt and avi files must have the same name otherwise it won't work for you
