Thanks for all your work but I find it sorry that you stop it because some users doesn't want to change their player.
For sure it is stange that episodes 1 to 5 et no. 7 work well on VLC but not episode 6, the problem must come from the encoding but it works very well on WMP.
Anyway you are free to upload or not, it's your decision.

As a Mac user, I also hope you will continue. It was not an issue of "changing players", there are no players for Mac OSX that could handle it, but it only took a couple of hours on my system with ffmpeg to re-encode it to a perfect XViD copy that plays fine with both mplayer and VLC. I still kept the original seeding for the rest of those who had no problem with it. (FWIW, the "Mac fix" version had no sound on my system.)
Whatever the issue actually was, it was not your fault, and definitely much less important than being able to download the episode in the first place. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. If you choose not to upload any more eps, it is your right, and I understand. But I hope you will reconsider.
Best wishes,
Baragon

Hi chiisana_tantei,
Thanks for responding. I certainly appreciate your efforts, but also understand that it takes a good bit of bandwidth and time to download and upload, and if you have to worry that you're going to end up with more complaints than thanks for your efforts, there is probably little satisfaction.
FWIW, your upload of episode 7 played without any issues in both VLC and mplayer on my Mac (Tiger 10.4.3), so the problem with episode 6 appears to have been an isolated case.
On this end, there is some frustration in being a Mac user who sees posts saying, in effect, that it's our problem, and we should upgrade our tools when there aren't any available. Having a good source file and free conversion tools like ffmpegX makes iit easy to produce a version that works flawlessly. Whatever problems some of us had in playing episode 6, it was excellent source material.
For anyone else on the Mac who ended up having to try re-encoding, ffmpegX was unhappy trying to re-encode it to DivX, but converted it to XviD fine, with no loss in quality. If anyone wants me to put up my rip of episode 6 (same size and specs as the original), I'll be happy to do it, I just don't want to be seen as complaining about someone else's efforts. Admittedly, we Mac users make up a very small segment of the community.
This is definitely a very cool series, I'm enjoying it a lot and looking forward to the rest. Thanks again for sharing with us.
Cheers,
Baragon

I did not have any problems with the XviD episode of Kiken na Aneki here — but I have sometimes had problems with certain XviD files, in certain players. I have at least half a dozen different players installed though, and there's always at least one of them that will play any particular file.
I think the problem is that XviD is "Open Source," and there are several different versions of the codec floating around, so playback from one machine to another may be inconsistent; while DivX has only the one official codec, and is therefore more reliable.
In any event, thanks as always for your uploading, chiisana_tantei!

chiisana_tantei,
Thanks for your uploads. I just realized that this thread was continuing. I was the one that jumped in with the quick fix for Mac users, but it couldn't have been done without you providing the XviD file to begin with. All our thanks to you for the only raw source at the time. Hopefully everyone has figured out how to use ffmpegX and make their own high quality version of the file that had the problem.
Anyway, I think it was a rare problem with that one particular file, because other XviD files work fine on a Mac.
Also, to all Mac users reading this, DivX finally came out with DivX6 for OS X today. They were having compatibility problems with Tiger, but today's release runs very smoothly. It also includes the DivX Converter app that had been periodically available in beta form.
