agreed that JTV Is well worth the wait, but i edited your subject line to reflect your post.
instead of splitting the effort, perhaps you (and any volunteers) can contact Kamui6 and work with the JTV team?_________________ Use THUMBS UP/DOWN buttons to KEEP or DELETE posts.

If anyone is wondering what's the point of transcribing when there's no high quality video, well, it's easier to get HQV then subs.
If anyone wants, I can upload a low-res version of episode 5. The specs is,
Source: DVD R2
Video: 416 x 304, 29.97 fps, XviD 340 kbps
Audio: Stereo, MP3 32 kHz, 64 kbps VBR
Subs: None
Size: 149 MB (target 140 MB)
Don't let the low bitrate and small file size fool you. If you have downloaded My Little Chef ep 1 uploaded by me (encoded using the same settings), you'll know what to expect.  _________________ (void *) &NHY;

So in summary:
- nhyone hates the VHS-rips made by SO.
- nhyone is looking for someone to transcribe the subs from the VHS-rips into soft subs.
- nhyone will upload better quality HQV RAWs.
Personally, I'm fine with the quality released by SO. So what if it's a VHS rip. I grasped the entire content of the drama, and I don't think a better quality rip would have given me any more information or enjoyment. Even if there were a few minutes of content clipped, I still got the grasp of the overall story. Now if it was a D quality rip, such as the Hitotsu Yane no Shita rip that's floating around the trading community, then I could see someone replacing it with a better quality rip. I really think the newer drama fans are becoming much too picky about video quality than us old-timers - to the point where there's too much work put into something frivolous like video quality, while the same resources could've been better applied to a project with more value to the community, such as the dozens of non-subbed RAWs. Just my personal opinion.

I don't even think 150MB is considered HQ. My fansubbing RAWs are this size and I consider them LQ.
Anyways, I just think it's in bad taste to work on soft subs because of some fan's impatience...

I said low-res. The file is suitable for synchronizing the subs to the video, for example.
(I created it for my portable reasons; I'll say the video is A on 10-12" LCDs, B on 14-15", and C on 17" and above.)

Translation is neither a monopoly nor fair. Some series may be translated twice whereas others lay untranslated. There may be duplication of work, wasted time and bandwidth, but that's how life is.
I am debating whether to upload the low-res version together with the text file transcribbed from Studio Oto's version. No timing as I have no skills at it. |
It’s call common courtesy and mutual respect among groups. We are fans who spare our time to work on files for other fans to enjoy. I think among the drama community there was one aspect it didn’t share with the anime community, which has multiple groups working on the same series. You don’t think you time could be spent working on a series that no one else has? It’s not like, there are that little files undone.
From the looks of things, you’re not even willing to put all the time and effort in. Timing isn’t that hard, you could learn it.
oh also on the vid situation, why lq 150mb files? That's something that's done by Hardsub groups. We don't go posting our lq raw files that we use to work on the project on bittorent sites, get an ftp or another form of distrubing your file for a project instead of cluttering DA._________________

You don't think I know what life is? Gimme a break, you know nothing about what goes on in my life, and here you are lecturing me about life! LOL... what a complete waste of a thread.
You open up with... "oh, boo hoo, JTV has ONLY completed 4 episodes...blah blah"
Without them, you would've probably never even known about this drama in the first place. And adding a smily face doesn't make your request any *more* polite.

Ah... so you want someone else to transcribe the hardsubbed version...
And you want someone else to time the files also? I just see someone who wants his cake and eat it too.
I'm here to protect existing work that other fansubbing groups have put out. But you are only here to destroy it for your own selfish reasons.
