i think i saw both of them hmmmz
well the diff is in the first few eps on the boat when the boy is still lil..i dont remember him on the boat wif the girl on the older series..and ofcours these effects are better..its pretty much the same..when i saw these series i thought the boy that plays him is 2fat..Tongue the rest is the same i guess

Thanks for your answer. I still have to decode the 1986 version to dvd, but will wait till I have some episodes of this version and do a compare.

hehehez my parents think the same way..., but thee older version some are better cusz the newer ones have some messed up effects...u know..older ones are just pure martial arts and some of that hand thingy and shoot all u see is a boom..
newer effects make it sometimes unrealistic..like in these series when he learns the technique of the old dead leader in the cave..i like how they did that more in the 1986 version..however the 03 series got some great effets like when hes fighting the monk and u see him running wif the fiercy fist..that just look hawt^^

And I have to agree with ThangDiengXD's comments! I really find the old classic versions to be a lot better than new versions. A lot of the time, the newer versions are too rushed for whatever reason (budget, etc). I'm not really into the flashy effects either, they kinda ruin the story (make it look too sci-fi-ey). The music is usually a lot better too in the older versions (I'm making these comparisons from the LOCH and ROCH series that I've seen).
I have never seen HSDS before, so it'll be interesting (for me anyway) to watch the newer version first and then the older 86 version and see whether it's the first version I watch that sticks in my mind.

I agree that sometimes more modern and newer filming techniques are not always for the better.
I might do the same, first watch the new one and the 86 version.
