Seeders Wanted For A New Korean SOTM...

1. If you can get permission of the owner of the tracker that a torrent is hosted on to do a SOTW then I think that would be fine. We're here to help each other experience more asian dramas regardless of which tracker it came from.

2. Big block torrent can be used by people who already have some of the files. Someone stated it above and I have personally done this before too. Block/batch torrents usually have a directory so start the block/batch torrent download and let it create the directory and any files in it. Stop your BT client, copy any files you have already into that directory making sure the file name matches whatever files is in the directory. Restart your BT client and it will hash check the directory again and find that some of the files are already complete and will mark them as completed. Now you just continue to download whatever files you're missing, works with partial files too.

Of course if you're going to do this you should make people be aware that its possible to do so, I know some people don't even know you can resume a single torrent file.

3. Kdrama series tend to be longer than Jdramas, sometimes twice as long so maybe you can extend the kSOTW to be longer than jSOTW. Just something to keep in mind.

Since, Ruroshin made very good points regarding the number of completed kdramas to have a successful kSOTW we are considering extending the kSOTW to completed series from other trackers, mainly jem's. I'm sure this excites many of you, as it did me! But, we still need to okay this with the other sites and are unsure if we can still use their series w/out posting the torrents. Perhaps we could just use links to their sites instead since the torrents are posted there.

We are looking for a way to contact jem since iceberri and i both do not go on the irc. If anyone goes to channel #2muchdrama and would like to help us contact jem, please pm iceberri or myself.

Another good point regarding kSOTW is extending the length of time for seeding each series. Here is one of our brainstorming ideas to this valid concern:

The first two weeks of kSOTW will be dedicated to the first half of the series. The last two weeks of the month would be dedicated to the second half of a series. For each half, the second week of dedicated seeding would be similar to the current SOTW second week; a week for peers to play catch up.

We hope this will address three problems:
1. Not enough time for ppl do download the complete series because they are longer.
2. Take away some of the load for seeders since they would only concentrate on half of the series at a time.
3. Help the fans that want do download both kdramas and jdramas that are featured series of the SOTW/SOTM.

I think this setup will work considerably better (as we have discussed) Smile

Another possible advantage to extending it to SOTM is hopefully allowing elected series to circulate evenly. Instead of having the popular series constantly voted on because users never managed to finish due to the time constraint; with the extended time period, a great group of people will finish, so that more people will vote on other series as well.

The way I see it is this:
2 weeks time period: Winter Sonata --> Hotelier --> Winter Sonata --> All In --> Hotelier
4 weeks time period: Winter Sonata --> Hotelier --> All In --> Beautiful Days --> Ruler of Your Own World

This should hopefully eliminate repetitions of SOTWs within a short period of time. Smile

i think i will be finally done downloading Attic Cat thing in about 12 hrs hopefully... been taking awhile since i am downloading them in the 2 big packs...

anyways its going to be my first time being a seeder... well from what i understand as a seeder i just keep the torrent open so that i upload right? and also which torrent files do i need to keep open for attic cat?
