One suggestion could be what I mentioned in another thread before about new memebers receiving PMs about the FAQs when they register for an account. Here's what I'm proposing:
| Quote: | | Each new member that signs up for an account will receive an PM that will link to the FAQ page, detailing everything about how the site works. Also, the message will include rules such as "no request for movies", "no request for subtitles", etc. and at the same time, guide the new members to what each thread is all about so that the appropriate questions could be posted in the right thread, should the FAQ fail to give them the answers that they are looking for. If possible, the email that the new member receives after they register will link them to the PM login screen |
Sorry if I sound authoritative, but it happens on every thread where a new member doesn't follow the rules and end up having their thread locked because they simply didn't read the FAQs or the thread carefully before posting.
Other than this suggestion, keep up the good work because this site is the best that I've ever come by for dramas. I wonder what other members think needs improvement on d-addicts (I like it as is and I can't think of anything that would require any changes at all). _________________ D-Addicts is like a library: Most of the resources are there, you just have to search around!

My only thing that I would improve about D-Addicts is perhaps enforcing a ratio system for the leechers. I'm a member of other sites with ratio systems and I like the fact that with a ratio, it forces people to seed when they finish their downloads to at least a 1:1 ratio. This would help a lot of the torrents to have more seeds and not have the seeders disappear so fast.
Other then that, keep up the good work.

They do get emailed upon registration with links to the FAQ.

hmm....maybe a function to search within a thread? Like the clubbox thread is around 80 pages now? People keep repeating the same thing b/c well it's 78 pages to look for one specific thing_________________

Please put a ratio system inplace, im sick of leechers here who just download and say thank you and leave. 90% of everyone who has downloaded a file from here has not been botherd to seed 1:1 of its actual file size = download dieing.
Its sad seeing downloads die within 2 weeks of there release date. I was on vacation for 2 weeks and just trying to download a 2 week old file is a bitch because theres never enough seeders.
But i'd like to say thank you to all the dedicated seeders outthere

Here's an interesting statistic for you.
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/stats.php
D-Addicts at this very moment has 4,279 torrents. 1,471 of those are being seeded. That means 34% of the torrents on this site is being seeded.
Jpopsuki a popular jpop site which enforces ratio system and even has punishment system has 6,630 torrents with 1,508 of those being seeded = 23% of their torrents being seeded.
So even without the ratio sytem, we're doing ok.

You can't seriously expect everyone to stay on for two weeks waiting for a downloader. There is always the initial swarm, where everyone pretty much gets and gives at the same time. And once people finished sharing, they will leave. But D-Addicts has a great community where if you need something you can always make a request. Someone will almost always help out. I've never had a problem getting something from here, even if it's a year old. You might not be able to get it in an hour or two, but you will finish it eventually. I would like to see the share ratio of people who always suggest implementing a ratio system. I think those are the ones that are more likely to hit and run. If you are patient enough, you wouldn't need to complain about not getting your bytes fast enough.

i really like the search within a thread idea alot... but one thing that would help the forums is maybe for all those newbie topics (locked ones) to be either deleted or thrown into some archive folder because they are no use in the forums if they r locked and no good comes out of it... newbies wont go search all the way to the back of the forum and they will still make the same stupid posts.
other than that this is the best forum ive ever joined... thats y its the only one i ever keep up with... and i love my signature heheheh_________________ Watching:Emperor of the Sea 23/52*dormant* Wedding 2/16*dormant* Over The Rainbow 2/16 GTO 2/11

Most of the forums have pruning enabled, that means if a topic is not posted to for a certain period of time it is automatically deleted. So locked topics will get deleted eventually by the system.
