i dont think that a series of the month would work. the reason being this: the original torrent doesnt have continuous seeds for a month when it is first released. its lifespan is maybe a week and a half to two weeks at most. then it goes unseeded until someone requests, and even then, sometimes it remains unseeded. since the original lifespan isnt a month, theres no way that we can expect people to give it a second lifespan of a month.

You are right in that original seeds only last about a week, but I was thinking more along the lines of stretching out the concerted re-seeding efforts for a month.
Mmm...I think I didn't explain it well enough. The idea is, Instead of providing seeds for all eps continuously during the month, work on providing seeds for part of the series each week, and then moving on to the next eps. The label of "Series of the Month" would not guarantee seeds for all eps during the whole month, but it would label the focus.
Let me try to explain it this way:
The first week, people will reseed ~3-4 eps of a series.
The next week, the focus will be on the next 3-4 eps, with the new downloaders hopefully keeping on as seeds for the first 3-4 eps that they just got.
Following weeks continue in the same manner until the series is done (approx. 1 month, depending on the length of the series)
Anyways, it was just an idea to reduce the mad scrambling...

Originally my plan was to have a concentrated re-seeding effort for one week from people who already have the file. The next week would be an 'off-week' where those who had downloaded the file can continue to seed. So basically it's a two week process, with week 1 being concentrated seeding, and week 2 being trickle seeding. Still, it's difficult enough to get people to seed one week (and most of those 3-4 seeds are pretty much the same people using Azureus to help seed all the files). Once we start clearing out the older files and start limiting the upload of new torrents, I think we'll get a lot more people sticking around to help seed. Especially if Ruroshin implements the tracker with ratios built in.
