need sum help about subtitle

ok i already download a rmvb files with chinese hardsub on it..
now i want add english soft sub on it.
i read all the help(faq) about the subtitle..

i downloaded Vobsub on it and put the same folder as jp02.rmvb & jp02.ssa and the subtitle didnt even play there ..there is no green arrow there also..

so i converted the rmvb to avi files.. so i ended up with jp02.avi & jp02.ssa and it still the same..

so i downloaded a program called nalsoft subtitle player.. but the player only can add .srt files to the video...luckily the 1st episode sub is on .srt format so i manage to watch the 1st episode using the player. http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_32812.htm

so now i need sum help here.. do i need to convert all the rmvb files to avi then only i can be able to use the vobsub?and the green arrow is still not the taskbar even after i dl vobsub and play it..

sry totally new on this sub thing.. really need sum help here.

if you have a .SSA file there is a site you can convert it to .SRT file

then vob sub should read it ok
