Just finished watching the first episode and it was really great. A very intense pilot.
The second episode had a rating of 13.9%~ A 3% drop....

OMFG am I the only person who thought this drama was epic ? I was not expecting this... I... Iwas not expecting to like this as much as I do... After watching miho in hataraki man, it feels really good to see her in this role. It reminds me a lot of iguana no musume (just the way she looks and stuff). I liked the characters a lot and found myself doing the guts pose so many times, urging that guy to operate!!!
Its the "the grand master that retired and lives in a small village, and then is called to protect that village because of the imminent threat" type of series. I only saw this type of story in fighting movies... It was really great. I went thru so many emotions... plus miho's sister is so hawt! Man, I need to get as much of this series as possible. I wonder will it stay this exciting. Its my first medical drama, so I'm not sure what's been "done to death", but I'm eagerly awaiting the following episodes!

Help?
Maybe I don't get the Japanese health care system, but how can Moriyama say that he will start working at the hospital as a doctor? I understand that his medical license does not expire, but doesn't he need to be hired by the lady boss? Didn't she made clear that she didn't want him around?
Thank you Haruspex and TimeLess for the subs. Excellent work!

In my opinion as much as she dislikes him ( I think because of how skilled he is), she must respect him as a doctor. She already knows they need more doctors there anyways. Plus both times he "came out of retirement" she was there, she knows he's useful. She opposes his departure from medicine (the "don't take medicine lightly" slap), and she is the type who hates to go back on what she says, so it might be part of the story, him trying to get hired. He found his resolve and he will gwr hired, I'm sure of it.
Plus he did 2 expensive surguries for free, lol.

With each episode, I found the character Endou Saya played by Ogawa Tamaki very intriguing. I guess it was the way she portrayed the character. Somehow Kanno Miho character is not that interesting. So far the story progress very nicely.

They both do not mince their words but Aiko is such a straight forward, typical character whereas little is still known of Saya although it's obvious that she isn't as cold and uncaring as she seems to come across.

Wow! I understand peanuts of Japanese, but I watched episode 4 without skipping a single frame. Needless to say, Haruspex and TimeLess are saving my sanity every time they post the subtitles. (Thank you guys!!!) This series is getting better and better.
Hidden:
By the gist of it, he gathered enough courage to tell Aiko that he was the doctor responsible for her mother's death. Poor Aiko... That is a major crack on the armor of her shining knight. What's a girl to do?
Takenouchi was amazing at the last scene. I can't believe he was able to pull it off. He's truly a great actor.
Hidden:
To be able to cry and at the same time show the character's incredible effort to restraint his emotions... that's is so unbelievably hard.
Well,I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for the subs and the next episode. This drama may have started a bit slow, compared with Code Blue, but it has hit a nice crescendo, while the other one is deflating. I'm sold.

Reading this, I just had to post, coz I've already watched it with subs a few hours ago, courtesy of triplez who timed the script and Haruspex for providing the translation real quick. Yes, I totally agree with 1shinigami0, Yutaka is really amazing in this episode. The ability to portrait such believable emotional character just left me speechless. I was left sitting at the edge of my seat, crying my eyes out...
Anyway, since I'm here already, just a lil' update on subs, it's currently in editing phase and I will try to get this release ASAP so to save ppl from going crazy waiting for it. Coz I know I would.
