Hi all,
I was wondering what software do you guys use to backup your dvd to avi file? I have one for zune and studio 10 but the image is no where same in size (larger) or quality (fuzzier) using the same setting that I see others use in the torrent and those look great.
Thanks

well, i would use DVD Decryptor to get the dvd files on my hard drive, then either use MeGui (for x264 rips) or AutoGK/Gordian Knot (for xvid).
There are some good guides at http://www.doom9.org that explain how to use these programs.

Nice thank you for the reply. Ive downloaded both and was wondering which one do you like the most? it seams to me x264 is getting more popular size you can get a larger screen res with a smaller/same file size then xvid would be. Is there any other plus side for either or?
Thanks again

| x264 has generally higher quality for the same size. The only real disadvantage seems to be the fact that older and less powerful systems can't play them properly. ie. my 3.2ghz p3 sometimes has issues playing them lag free, my newer systems don't have these issues
