It have been driving me crazy. After watch quite a couple of k-drama I have noticed something.

What is that mark often found on the left shoulder on Korean male actors? Sometimes female actors has it, but rarely. Seem like it come in varied shapes but it's always on the shoulder.

Is it some kind of birthmark or rite of passage? Scar from needle (shot)? Or they get it from military?

Anyone know why so many of Korean actors got something on shoulder?

Anyone wanna enlighten me on that?
Thanks.

It could be the reaction on the skin surface to small pox vaccine. That method of vaccination is no more. I know it cos I was born in 81 and I have that little wheel thingi.. the younger actors dont have it cos it was discontinued later.

I was born in India and most asian countries require to be vaccinated for small pox Smile

i saw the same scar on girls shoulders in Thailand and Philippines. i told the girls i had the same injection when i was born but the hospital never left an ugly mark like that on my arm. i tried to be humourous and say i'd sue the hospital if they left a mark like that on me but i don't think they understood Birish sarcasm
