I have only seen episode 1 and 2 so far. I am not sure whats coming on this but patience has been urged in the past.
I guess ap would perhaps know more, or someone else close to the EN-subber/s.
(at moments like this I wish I was fluent in Japanese, well not only now but most of the time)

Yes, i had istalled it long time ago. but i had to use the Jamondo-File. Dont know, if it is IME. I think IME is only a part of XP?
| Quote: | | Also, please try to find the control panel language settings and see if you have JP language support installed, to use JP as option for default language in non unicode supporting applications. |
Hmm. Where to do this???

Eeeerhhmmmm do we have a W98Techie in the building???
I can't even remember from one o/s to another how to open the start button LOL
perhaps, and in worst case scenario this is not an option on Windows 98.
I think the IME is functional for both XP and W2K though.
Since you have Japanese language support it should be able to read the files since it's standard unicode I thought.
I bet this is something that would have been solved by uploading a renamed version of the file. Dang.... /*slaps self over forehead for two errors today.
(number two being "Where did the W in the torrent name come from")
I am sorry i can't help you out better with this.
I might have to re-make the file anyway unless someone has a better idea.

SoftSubs by DustOff are included
Please note at the end who played "Goemon"
I wont tell. /*tee hee
EDIT >>
I just checked the status of the file and everything else (besides previously mentioned language bloopers and file names) seem to be working fine.
17 seeders and 23 completed with 144 to go sounds good so I will have to drop off here not the choke the machines when others (locally here) want to use them.
Thanks for the help and I hope you all enjoy the clip.

techie,
I had trouble opening the special in VDub until I downloaded Windows Media Video 9 VCM (Video Compression Manager).
Quote from MS: "The Video Compression Manager (VCM) version of the Windows Media Video 9 codec enables earlier
versions of encoding and editing applications to support the Windows Media Video 9 codec in file containers such as
Audio Video Interleaved (AVI)....."
Anyway, just wanted to bring this up just in case Windows users are having problems.

Dust Off had written something in his NFO. If I interprte it, correctly,
Someone should buy DVD (Sales in December I guess) and rip
it with higher resolution in Divx (as he hates Xvid) without VBR problem.
(And No interlaced avi)
Then, he would re-do Eng sub for Drama Special. ( He had mentioned
the same for "Gokusen Special Sub" TV capture. And he had made
Version 2.0 for DVD rip.)
And maybe, if someone bought DVD of the Dramas and rip the
same way, just like he had done "101 Kai me no propose: 101st
Proposal", we might see subs for the entire drama, too.
Aim for the Ace -Eng sub version came in with Ep 01 and 02. And the subs were terrible. In case of 101, there was only Ep 01 Eng subbed.
And Techie bought DVD.
Yes, of course, we must start gather at abmj and ask Dust Off
nicely about it.

Yes as ar-a-mach I believe mentioned or was it you... hmm I didnt scroll up before clicking quote, sorry, but the WM3 codec may have presented this glitch too.
I am not sure but I just watched the entire special and had no problems here.
Although I should say, I have like a gazillion codecs and options installed and run XP.
As for purchasing the Dorama series on DVD, it sounds like a brilliant idea.
I myself have just drained my account though in the quest to support jem as well as to purcahse another dorama related item
More about that once I get my hands on it /*sneaky grin.
I will look into my optional sources for the disk set though, but don't hold me to it right this very week.
so is that mean dust off willing to make english sub for ace wo narae drama if someone have the raw dvd?
No, I never said that. However, historically speaking, (I've been long enough to say so), if we could show enough "enthusiasam" with good reasons, Dust would reply with a positive answer.
Ex
There were 3 raw movies posted. Ikinai, Toire no Hanako san, and one
more title. Dust replied no to 'Will you make subs?"-request.
These two were among top 5 in Kloofy's most wanted sub list for
many many months. And someone asked him over and over and
he replied if there were 5 votes, and 5 votes came in for toire no hanakosan. Tore no hanakosan sub were found at Kloofy's and the
subs were bad. So Dust had made his sub.
And several months later, I asked Dust Off about Ikinai. "valoras" is
translating English from Chez translation. And when it was posted as
Beta, I again asked him to go over. Around the same time, several
others joined to ask him. After 5 votes, Dust made his Eng sub for
Ikinai. Valoras was first pissed, (as it took more than a year to make
translation, and Dust had done it in one day.), but Valoras became
happy about the quality of the Dust Sub, especially SMI format.
So there is a chance. One might wonder, why not ask him first,
before spending money to buy DVD.
He had already mentioned over and over. ; Just because xxxx was
posted. Just because I can get it. Dust won't make subs.
A poster must have a file and be ready to uload wav file when
Dust needed it.

| I have an xvid version of the special except the resolution is 512x480... don't know if anyone is interested in that. I skimmed through with the subbes and they seemed to be synced correctly to that version as well

downloading " Love, Fireworks and Ferris Wheels" BT because of
double byte characters in your regular BT client until you switched

they had XP os. |
Actually I had no problems downloading the thing as it turns out.
It was simply that I could'nt figure out at first why it wouldn't put in the right characters more or less.
Even so, at this very moment the machine I had that "problem" (Read my own stupidity) is seeding the file. Without any changes whatsoever.
In other words, it was my surprise that I didn't have IME and JP support on that box that got me a bit in pieces.
It's a new secondary can instead of the secondary one I had before which needless to say have more lingual support than a Webster server at the time.
When I tried it on XP it too gave me a minor issue, but after making sure IME was installed (which is a simple install by default almost) everything works fine.
Glitches thereafter have been related to the IME input settings which neonkinpatsu helped me work through simply by clicking input mode hiragana and that is also totally unrelated to the file name issues in xp.
In short, any problems I've had has been related to an extremely steep learning curve.
EDIT >> Had to check first...
Further more, I doubt this seed would have the No 1. download quota at the moment if the problem was so disasterous and indicative of a major flaw. 155 users are currently downloading this file and that is app. 37 more than next following out of 98x25 files listed.
I doubt the problem is that much of an issue than related to old o/s being in use on very few machines. That the file itself has problems for Mac users, is hardly one I could have anticipated not using mac myself.
The next worst problem I see right now would be that only 7 are seeding and I will up another later tonight when things around me slow down a bit
Please folks, if you could keep your seeds open a little bit longer it's much appreciated.
