Please note that the file name contains hiragana/kana entries and may appear weird if your computer does not support Japanese language.
Cap and post to abmj by FK
Sub titles soft subbed by DustOff.
For further information also see http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9772&sid=43a6b64a8cb8c7aa91ce90322fb4833d
the full file name is
ドラマスペシャル エースをねらえ! 奇跡への挑戦 2004年9月23日 上戸彩主演 WMV9 640×480 1h34m36s.avi
EDIT >> please allow some time for the seed to stabilize.
I got slapped by my router on the first run here so I will have to start slowly.
As for renaming the file. If youre file system doesnt
support the naming convention there are two options.
1) Rename the file by your own choice, suitably DustOff's name of the smi file used.
2) Not renaming it at all if it plays anyway. It would just be weird to have all squares in the file names.
You will still fin the file as it would basically be called a lot of squares and "! 2004 9 23 WMV9" ... and so on
I personally do not like to rename originals as they are posted in a certain way for a purpose. Also, (even if it seems stuck up ) I'm into JDorama. If my puter doesn't support JP and at least simplified Chinese, then I should find a new hobby and thats just my opinion and not to rack down on anyone but my computer when it doesn't work.
EDIT >> To help dos users.
To rename the file with all weird characters, if you don't like to use tools as Norton Commander and so on... do this.
Place the AVI in a directory by it self.
In the same dir make anew text file named RenFile.bat
Edit with favorite text editor to contain the following text
| Quote: |
REN *.avi MyNewFileName.avi
|
Save and close
In the command prompt type RenFile and hit enter.
Now the Avi is renamed to MyNewFileName.avi regardless of funky characters.
oh... but I do doubt (and hope) noone uses DOS for this anymore.

Why you didn't change the file name?
This makes hell of a problem to old OS users as Dos
cannot read it.
You could make it the same as Dust Off's sub name.

Just a technical alert on this avi file...
The video stream was encoded wmv3 and the audio is mp3. What does this mean? For the majority of folks (running Windows OS)
there won't be any problems viewing this video. For Mac OS X users, you will not be able to view this video as there is no wmv3
support or codecs available. You would think that Windows Media Player 9 for both WinBoxes and MacBoxes would be the same,
but this is not true. WMP(Win) supports wmv3, while WMP(Mac) does not.
Mac users, you can try all the different apps, Mplayer, Quicktime Player, VLC, but you will not be able to view the video although
you will hear the audio.
Ok, enough tech talk, you have been warned about this issue.

Read you backwards first.
Given this glitch there is no way to re-encode the file for Mac either since an encoder wouldnt be able to see the file anyhow.
I did not know this about Mac since I dont use one myself.

Hey techie,
The file could be re-encoded on a WinBox to divx video stream, since any directshow compatible Win app
should be able to open it... VDub should do the trick.
On a Mac I've read discussions about using ffmpeg to convrt to asf format and doing some other things,
but I'm not sure if ffmpeg even supports wvm3.
Yeah, I have Win and Mac boxes about 2 feet apart, they both have their purposes.

Had I know this before, I would probably have re-encoded it first myself but I'm normally against re-encing others work. Although I don't skimp on quality most of the time
Thanks for the heads up.
I'll be more of a curious George in the future when I get these files.

I think the name of the file is to long for creating on my PC. I couldn't rename a other file to this.
Anyone knows, how to get Windows 98 to accept this long names for files? Help please!!! |
What. Windows 98 does not accept it???
THAT is way odd... You do have SE with necessary updates on don't you?
I never had problems with long file names on Win 98.
Q 1. Do you have JP language support installed with the Windows IME?
Q2. Does anyone know if this is because unicode is double digits and therbey must use 128 character names?
Also, please try to find the control panel language settings and see if you have JP language support installed, to use JP as option for default language in non unicode supporting applications.
Azureus does use the proper data set in this. I use it myself.
The machine seeding is not supporting JP language but stores the file data properly.
It is n the other hand not running w 98 of course. I don't have any machine running that any more.
