This was the first Kimura Takuya drama series I watched. The ending episode is definitely unforgettable. Because of this I started to get interested to Kimura dramas.

What I thought of this dorama....nothing special about it but it's different from waht I've seen of all the J-doramas.

Hidden:

Overall the show wasn't all that bad but it is no way life changing nor is it thought provoking. Kimura plays a guy who has a natural pull or charm about him and it must sure as hell be some sort of eerie natural aura because theres nothing he does in the show that shows off his charm and pull that make the women do what they do. He plays the haughty, silent brooding type of guy. Maybe its his coldness that cause women to be attracted. Perhaps he just goes after the unstable sort of girl.
There isn't a strong storyline I think. It starts off as one thing and ends in something totally different and even then its not unpredictable. I knew from the point when Kanzo mentioned about "that boy" and the fact that both Kimura and Eri had burn marks that they were related and even when it was revealed there was not much shock in it like with Old Boy (which was truely shocking the way it unfolded and you didn't really know til the end).
The characters you couldn't identify with I didn't care much for them even when they die it doesn't hit you.
The only unpredictable point was when Kimura shot Yuri?, the rich guys sister.
Overall you cannot analyse the characters. What were Kimura's motives? When he went back to the orpahnage perhaps I thought maybe he enticed rich women to give back to the place in which he grew up. Why only go after rich women? Theres no real meaning to his "game". His more or less there merely as a plot devise. A bit like Iago in Othello a motiveless monster.

I watched the first episode of this drama, because I really like Kimura (after seeing Hero ^^), but I was a little disapointed.. I guess I should try to watch the rest, before saying anything.. But the first episode seemed a little.. too slow..I don't know..

This was my first Kimura Takuya's drama (and the only one so far). I really enjoyed this drama. It's very different from my usual list, so much more mature and serious. I thought it was really twisted and thrilling. pinch
Kimura did a very very good job on his role. I really like the detective guy too (although he may sometimes be so ehh...). Fukatsu Eri was amazing as her character. I thought this was Shibasaki Kou's weirdest role though. They made her look so unattractive and is probably my least favorite character.

I've just finished watching this drama and am really disappointed. there were many things that destroyed this rather good and really special story. 1st, the pace of the drama was so slow, I definitely don't agree with the ppl who say it's just the 1st ep that was slow, in my opinion it's only from around the 4~5th ep. that the pace gets better all before that was boring 4 me Sad . 2nd, and though i really liked KimuTaku's character and thought he played it really well, i think the script writer wasn't successful in showing the viewers why all women in the whole series soo easily fell 4 him and were ready 2 do anything 2 satisfy him. 3rd, I thought Akashiya Sanma's acting was horrible, i think even if sm didn't know he was originally a comedy actor they'd somehow sense that through his terrible acting
Hidden:

I was laughing so strongly watching the last scene in the last ep. when he was crying sooo pathetically, or rather whinning Laugh his acting just destroyed the whole thing

I thought ryo's character was really special (esp that i like the psychopathic characters) and I enjoyed KimuTaku's great acting, but u know what
Hidden:

I thought they over did it with that composition he's supposed 2 have written as a child, it was sooo overly dark ( I totally refuse that "I became God" part Mad ) and i just wasn't convinced that sm could hate the world and all human beings that way esp. if he's an orphan who doesn't remember his Past or how he lost his parents. just not convincing Unsure

I was really amused 2 see some of u knew how the end would be like so early in the drama,
Hidden:

as 4 me i only made a joke 2 myself that they would turn out brother and sister but still somehow got a bit of a shock when it was revealed (maybe bec. KimuTaku's acting was so Great in that scene)

Overall, i don't think the drama is Life-altering in anyway, and i personally didn't like it that much (maybe bec of too many love scenes) but anyway i agree that it's very different from most J-Doramas.[/spoiler]

lol, komento o yondeiru no toki wa sugoku omoshiroii desu. (very interesting reading the comments). I actually really liked this drama, I never guessed the ending actually, so was quite sad, I actually liked the love scenes! lol, I think j-dramas usually has too few love scenes, i suppose asian dramas tend to be more reserved than western dramas, but kimura san defnitely is a really good actor, another eg. of his great talent!
