Brief info:

Someone said there's only two kinds of tragedy. The first, having no money. Second, having too much of it. The world is made of money, and money bears tragedies.

So began the best Japanese drama of 2007, in some ways reminding of the kind of mess we find ourselves in today. Because this crisis and its causes do indeed belong to those who had too much money, and those who had none at all, creating tragedies for many people. You rarely find a drama delving into such somber and in many ways depressing themes, particularly in Japan, where this kind of soup has been served for way too long, some will argue. NHK's ハゲタカ (Hagetaka: Road to Rebirth) is a little triumph for the public broadcaster, despite the near absence of coverage outside Japanese shores, and rather vanilla ratings at home as well. Starring Ohmori Nao as Washizu, the president of an hagetaka fund, better known Internationally as vulture fund, his Horizon comes to Japan to literally buy them out on the cheap. Their M&A methods are ruthless, often at the expenses of a Japanese business model still too attached to what the Koreans call 가족주의 (familism), and the results aren't pretty.

But something is hiding under this guise of hungry vulture for Washizu, as an indirect victim of the system itself, making him wake up and smell the reality surrounding him. Squaring off against him is Shibano (a wonderfully subtle Shibata Kyohei) a rather conservative yet idealist bank elite, and Nishino (Matsuda Ryuhei), plotting revenge against Washizu. Basking in financial jargon and with a refreshing no-bullshit approach to the proceedings, this little masterpiece not only benefits from nearly flawless writing, strong production values and top notch acting, but also the epic soundtrack of one Sato Naoki, the man behind パンドラ (Pandora)'s exceptional score. If you're tired of idols stinking up the place, you couldn't possibly do better than watching this gem. It's sweet like Easter eggs. And you don't even get cavities...

i'm sorry to make this arubt request but i really did enjoy this show alot and i couldn;t download the sub for ep06 finale.

Somehow it prompt me to download and later on, the download did not occur..
