Been reading all your comments. Stayed away from spoilers. What can i say more other than i already love this. Which is weird. But i enjoyed previous works of Higashino Keigo (Byakyuyakou, Galileo, Shukumei, Tegami -all of these were good). Plus i loved Kudo Kankuro's IWGP. Wasn't impressed that much with Kisarazu even though the 2 were similar in a way.

And i would really love to see EITA in this drama too. I have no idea what his character is all about but he's a great actor and i'm sure he could pull out any sort of role.

I'm curious who's going to do the theme song. No offence but i hope it won't be Arashi. It would be nice if some older artists were doing it. Prefereably Mr. Children or Kobukuro. But that's my preference anyway.

Nino and Erika has already started filming? That's incredible as that girl is still filming for Code Blue.

Somehow her songs sounds mystic, dark but gentle. Suits Higashino Keigo's style^^

Ahh you're right *recalls the ending song of Byakuyakou*. Shibasaki would be great aswel i agree cheers

Let's just hope that Johnny doesn't have that much influence on TBS. This i muchly doubt but oh well we'll see.

So the directors are already confirmed?
They got nice resume. Tiger & Dragon with Byakuyakou with lots of other dramas that I love.
Just from looking at the people who will be working on Ryusei it seems they are making one mind blowing drama. This kind of making me nervous ^^;;;;. Its really dangerous having too high expectation but the team just screams quality.

I hope Eita will be working on something else with him as the lead instead of another supporting role. I'm ok if he is playing Shi's love interest but am kinda intimidated by his quite presence fighting for the limelight against Ninomiya. Rooting for Nino to eat him all up >DDD

As for TBS and Johnnys.. they love Arashi and Kudokan use "A Day In Our Lives" for Cats Eye (he seems quite comfortable with the jyanis..). Though rather than thinking Johnny's influencing TBS, it works the other way round too. TBS really LOVE Arashi imo. Having Arashi again not a bad thing for me obviously Tongue

but it really depends on how the story goes. A haunting song would be lovely and it hard to imagine Arashi doing so sweating

Ninomiya Kazunari
It has been a long time since my last drama. I will try my best to create the siblings' sincere bond and make it as a drama that will not move everyone's rational mind, but everyone's instinct, instead.

Nishikido Ryo
I will do my best to play the role as the second son who depend himself to his kind and experienced older brother.

Toda Erika
I'm a fan of the original book, so I'm very happy to be able to participate in the drama. I'm looking forward to Kudo Kankuro-san's script.

Miura Tomokazu
Personally, I'm a fan of Higashino's works. It always feels like I'm reading interesting scripts and got addicted to it, whenever I read his works. "Ryusei no Kizuna" is also another of his work which can be imagined as a drama. I've also seen Kudo-san's movies and dramas. He's the messiah of the entertainment world! But I don't think that Miura Tomokazu is someone who has talents in life so I'm very nervous about this.

I didn't expect that it'll be made into a drama this early. I'll say this again, the original story and the drama/movie adaptation are always two different things. But I hope it can be the drama that the audience can enjoy.

"Regarding Kudo Kankuro-san"
Although I'm not in the position to talk about the person that the staffs has chosen, but I think he has rich talents, so just as the audience, I'm really looking forward to it. I loved "MaikoHaaaan!!!" alot.

"Regarding the casts"
I had alot of fun creating the siblings' characters. I'm hoping that they can play the roles even better than the ones I had in mind.

Screenplay
Kudo Kankuro

The last drama I wrote, which was also an adaption of the original, was Ikebukuro West Gate Park. This is definitely a full-scale mystery that I won't write. In any case, I'm currently reading the original book by Higashino Keigo, over and over, until I become dead-tired. It is definitely a fresh world, a worthwhile story that makes my heart beats faster.

I've worked before with Ninomiya-kun in the anime, "Tekkon Kinkurito". We were both the voice actors. I think he totally fits in the role of the naive and reliable eldest son.

On the other hand, I'd like Nishikido-kun to do his best in playing the role with high tension and low IQ.

For Toda-san, I'll say this now, I'll write many inpolite scenes for her. But it's still safe enough, that she won't be hated for it.

I'm a fan of Miura-san, so I'll definitely sit straight when I'm writing his lines.

If you read the original, you'll know the murderer already. So rather than the mystery side, I'll put forward the sentimental part of a glimpse of the daily lives of the 3 youngsters and how the police detective protect them.

It's a story of the 3 youngsters who lost their parents burdened with their unfortunate past, yet they're trying to live their lifes to the fullest. I'm trying to write the element of "although we lost our parents, we can also laugh" nicely better than the usual.

We've found a novel that can definitely be a popular drama. It is an excellent piece of a full-scale mystery blends with the 3 young siblings' youth.
The script of this masterpiece by Higashino Keigo, will be re-written by Kudo Kankuro-san who is known well for "Creating No.1 Japan's Lively Characters!"

In a glimpse, you'll think that, Higashino Keigo X Kudo Kankuro, is a mismatch. But this a collaboration between two top runners, so we are looking forward to create something new that has never been born in the Japanese entertainment world.

Moreover, beside the written story, we have the best lineup of young actors and actress, that has both real ability and charm acknowledged by the old, the young, men and women; Ninomiya Kazunari, Nishikido Ryo, and Toda Erika.

Besides the good parts of the original, we have also prepared a moving and shocking ending which is different than the original. I think this will be the ultimate entertainment drama, that you can enjoy, so to Higashino's fans, Kudo's fans, the novel readers, those who hasn't read the novel too, please look forward to it!

As much I look forward to this drama, I won't expect it as something that has never exist before among dramas... coz it could mean either 2: great success, or disaster. Hmm, I wonder if its ok that the producers boast it as much as that, makes me worried Neutral

Anyway, seem like Nishikido Ryo's character will be the lively, yet stupid brother? Roll Eyes

In other words, he might be the comic-relief character.

Reading the comments, I can sense that KudoKan will put in some humor and comedic moments, so I guess it won't be as gloomy and as depressing as Byakuyakou ^_^

Not sure abt ratings, probably more or less the same as Maou and/or Byakuyakou's ratings. But I think its an awards-receiving warranty.

Regardless, they are apart of the Jimusho, so it could be considered a Johnny's dominated time slot, even if they're SMAP.

Kanjani8 doing a theme song for this drama is too far fetched. They're marketed mostly as a feel good group who sings feel good songs. Last time they released a "serious" song (Osaka Rainy Blues) ended up being one of their worst selling singles. Wild and crazy kansai boys going serious? Doubt it. NEWS belting out something serious - More believable.

Well, of course. But there's still a healthy amount of Johnny's dominated dramas that have not featured a theme song from that actor's associated boyband. Gokusen 1 had V6 but Gokusen 2 had D-51whatever... etc etc. It depends. I really doubt SMAP has different management. Their management is the Johnny's Jimusho, their talent agency, its no different than other groups. How they are marketed, yes, is different than other groups...

... but hell, they're pushing 20 years debut already and they're pushing into the mid to late 30s. Not really boyband material. I'm really shocked they haven't pulled from the Jimusho, but then again I think that if they did, only Kimutaku would have steady success while Shingo, Goro, and Tsuyoshi would have mild success. Nakai would probably only survive as a TV talent, he really doesn't have much going for him besides that.

Arashi pumping out a another single would just be murderous. NEWS seems more likely and Kanjani8 is a farcry, especially when we still have Yoko's drama up in the air.
