i recently downloaded a series and then realised that the subtitles were soft subs, so i downloaded many programs to help me watch soft subs, the program i finally downloaded that helped me to watch soft subs was vobsubs.

After that, the sound from the video did work anymore. It was working fine before without the subtitles...

Are these two related to causing the problem?

thanks

You might have installed too much. Start reading here:

You possibly have to uninstall some codecs - or all - and start anew with a selected choice.

A simple way to view videos and softsubs is to use the VLC-Player.
