Hope this is allowed, as I couldn't find anything specific to my problem elsewhere, and didn't know where else to post. If not, s'ok if it gets deleted or whatever. Oo
So I just updated my bittorrent client, which is just the original bittorrent (I would use uTorrent, except it and my firewall don't get along, and whenever I try to make them get along my firewall crashes the window which is not the point now, and I've given up trying to fix that ><) far as I know.
I had a couple torrents running at the time, two of them above the 98% mark for completion when I updated the client. I don't remember if the bittorrent client was running when I did the update.
So my problem is that when I installed the newer client version, and restarted, bittorrent is not resuming the prior torrents, nor as I can tell, even aware they exist. I even went so far as going back and selecting the torrents off the site and seeing if they would resume the torrent where they left off.
Left them running for a while and they just restarted the download from the beginning, with none of my previous download adding into it. I'm pretty sure the information is still in my computer, as I keep a close eye on my hard disc space and it hasn't changed since I updated clients.
I think I read someplace that you can apply previously downloaded info in a torrent to a client, but I can't even find where the files downloaded to. There is a bittorrent download file under My Documents, but previously the torrents only showed up there when the file had finished downloading, so I have no idea where all this information went. When I restarted the torrents, the files show up in the folder now and list their size as 700mb, but won't play or anything, I'm assuming because they aren't completed.
So if anyone could help me, I would be ever so grateful, as if not, I just lost about a weeks worth of downloading and lost a couple Gbs of storage space. So, uhh... thanks ahead?

It's the same as reseeding. The client will check the files, see things are missing, and start downloading the missing files again. Check the FAQ on how to reseed.
And to find where the files are just go to your start menu and search. Then search for the files. It will tell you where they are hiding.

I tried both those things, I think. I've left the client running for a while, but its already up to 4.4% and previously the torrent was on 99.4% so unless the conversions are somehow different between versions of client, its not working.
The search just gave me the links to these new files, though one did show up that I hadn't reloaded the torrent of, sort of randomly.
Thanks, though.
