Edit 3: I posted this in the wrong forum and one of the helpful mods moved it here. Thanks! (my original post is below)

Does anyone release Japanese subtitles for popular dramas?

I am mainly watching dramas to improve my Japanese. It would be really helpful to have Japanese subtitles.

DVDs of dramas in Japan will sometimes have subtitles, and it's really helpful!

EDIT 1: I found http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_58128.htm which links to http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/subtitles.php#Japanese

This is just what I was looking for.

EDIT 2: Should this post be moved to the fansub forum? I couldn't find any way to move it, so maybe a mod could do it for me?

You can usually find many movies with Japanese subtitles. One that I am watching today is Gou gou the cat with Ueno Juri and I had to downlioad a different torrent when I had the wrong subs.. I actually found a really good one that had two Japanese subtitle tracks, one in kanji and one in hiragana, but I cannot remember the name, I will take a look and see if I can find it. But remember that google is you friend. If you do a search on the gou gou the cat Japanese subtitle you will easily find the japanese sub. Just rinse and repeat for any movie you are interested in.

If you live in Japan, you can easily get Japanese subtitle text from terrestrial digital TV broadcasting programs by extracting it using a tool called Caption2Ass. These programs have, when recorded, a file extention, .TS.
