Wow!

I'm going to Tokyo for a year in October and I've been watching a lot of Japanese TV to work on my language comprehension but I often miss much of the dialogue because there's often new vocabulary or slang that I have problem picking up. With the Japanese subs added I'll be able to understand it all!

Thanks a bunch. I hope you keep supplying us with more subtitles Smile

Now I'm going to give SP another go! Big Smile

Rokonoko,

I really appreciate the Japanese subtitles you have downloaded. I am a teacher and have just started to use this resource. May I ask, would you please consider downloading the Japanese subtitles for:
-Nobuta wo Produce
-Tatta Hitotsu no Koi
I earlier purchased both of these video sets to show my Japanese language students, but I would like to be able to print out the Japanese script as well. Kame speaks very clearly, so his movies are relatively easy for my students to follow in Japanese.
Thanks!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Rokonoko hasn't been seen in months.

Thanks for letting me know. Was it someone else who was downloading Japanese subtitles? Did I misunderstand that? Or was it Rokonoko and he/she is just gone now?

Any other ideas for getting Japanese subtitles in a text file? Can I somehow capture them off the DVD's I purchased?

Hello!

There is a way of capturing subtitles of videos, closed caption (CC) from 1seg broadcast. That`s the way Rokonoko used, the link is in his/her signature::

http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_58171.htm

I've never used it yet, but since I plan to to subs it's on my starred list. Smile

Other then tnat, what we all do is to take much time and effort to make subs and the timing for each line/speak. Smile

Thanks. I'm new to this forum and not too tech savy, but I would like to learn to capture the Japanese subtitles. They are awesome for my classroom.
If anyone would like me to double-check their Japanese to English translations, that's something I can do fairly easily. I can't imagine how I would find time to subtitle a whole 10 episode drama while teaching high school full-time. Hats off to the fansubbers who do it!

Indeed. Timing is one of the most time-consuming.

When and if I got the time to test the guide above, I can help you! Smile For anything you can contact me! It`s all ok for me. Smile

hm...I really appreciated the Japanese subtitles, but it seems that unfortunately rokonoko is no longer doing this. I hope he / she is doing fine.

I actually thought about maybe timing them myself, but since I don't live in Japan i don't have the means to get the subs via 1seg. Does anybody know if there is another way to find or another ressource on the net where I can find the Japanese script/subs for doramas? They don't have to be timed as mentioned before. I'm sorry to ask for the same thing PKAngel already asked, but maybe something came up in the meantime Smile

Any hint / help is appreciated.

Thank you very much.

From what I've read awhile back on another web site, it appears that HOBANKYO is cracking down on sites that host Japanese scripts. JASRAC is doing the same thing regarding Japanese lyrics for music, which is why it is difficult to find them on-line.

Any high school teachers reading this? I have quite a few second to third year lessons based around 3+ minutes of dialogue from various dramas. I'd be glad to email. D Addicts is a treasure for me because of the Japanese subtitles. The torrents I quit trying to use (very frustrating for me plus I have some funds to buy DVD's.) But the Japanese subtitles can be used in so many ways for learning! For example, I have one mega-document of a bunch of subtitles downloaded from this site which I "search" every time I want a real-life example of how a grammar item or vocabulary is used. For example, ~tari (~tari suru), ~naide (kudasai), or ~te wa dame.
