Hi all,
Since i'm recording quiet a lot of drama for my personal usage i was thinking that i should release some of them. The problem is that the saved file is impossible to open from a conventional media player so i can't even re-encode it. So I wanted to ask some other raw providers here for some help !
I'm using a IO-DATA GV-MVP/HX2 and their MagicTV file to record shows. I can watch them later using the same soft but that's it.
After looking on the net, i found that some people burn it to a DVD or BR then use some softs to remove the CPRM protection. But my dvd recorded doesn't support CPRM so i can't use it and a virtual burnen like phantom burner doesn't support CPRM and doesn't plan to.
So i'm wondering, how are you guys doing it ??
Thanks !

Hello,
video files recorded with GV-MVP/HX2 are not viewable in other media players than the one provided by IO-DATA because they are encrypted with the usual method of copy protection and with the maker's own protection, and I don't know a way to get around it.
If you want to obtain freely editable broadcast data, you need to record TV dramas in TS format, which contains the original uncompressed and unscrambled broadcast data.
In order to record in TS format, you need to buy and use a Friio or buy other TV tuners such as HDP2, HDU2 and use them with hacked drivers made by people at the DTV board of 2ch, which is where hackers and geeks of Japan gather. (http://pc11.2ch.net/avi/)
If you can read Japanese, search 2ch with the keyword "TS" or "TS抜き".
But maybe you should do the above thing, if you think you can gather information in Japanese and have some PC knowledge. Otherwise, I don't recommend it.
And, most of the raws uploaded at D-addicts are not encoded by the people at D-addicts, but they are recorded and encoded by Japanese people and released into Japanese P2P networks such as Share, Perfect Dark, and after that, imported into Torrent by the people at D-addicts.

Thanks for the reply, very informative.
Yes, I wish i made some research before I bought the card.
I've been looking for information on various japanese forums/blogs but no procedure will work until i buy a dvd or br recorder that support cprm then rip it.
I suppose i'll have to watch then delete files since raw are so big...
