I don't think there's any direct translation for "Gyabo!" or "Mukya!"... It's just Nodame-speak: her own, wild, crazy exclamations, like someone saying "Whoa!" or "Yow!" Smile

if i'm correct. they're just onomatopoeias (words that imitate a sound). common in comic books such as "bam!", "whoosh!", "pow!" etc etc.

Wow...a Nodame look alike?

Has anyone checked out Absolute Boyfriend Zettai Kareshi? It's actually quite humorous and the leading actress is pretty good at portraying the chaste, innocent, dorky girl-next-door character. She has the Nodame hair going. And the character reminds me of Makino Tsukushi from Hana Yori Dango...(only older in the business world wise). Wow, two of my favorite characters/actresses somewhat combined. I guess since Juri isn't in anything this show will substitute for that spot.

Sure, this show is dedicated to the ladies, but I am sure the guys can enjoy it too ;)

^ Imo for me, Zettai Kareshi is boring. I deleted them in one go. Couldn't be bother to watch it anymore after 6 episodes. <_<;;
And no offence to Aibu Saki's fans, but I found her character in that drama annoying. I prefer the manga storyline anytime.

But I like Inoue Mao in HYD. I definitely prefer Makino's Japanese version than the Taiwanese's one. ^^;;

But still... nothing beats Nodame for comedic heroine role~~ Wub *daydreaming*

I just watched Warau Michael and as corny as that movie is, Juri's scene with her brother at the end still manage to make me teary eyed. Haha. I think she made the best out of her character in the movie. I didn't exactly enjoyed the movie as a whole but Juri's scenes was entertaining enough to keep me watching. At least we got to see her making some kung-fu/wrestling moves. Lol. thumright

Funny, I just watched WM too, and had pretty much the same reaction Smile

And I finished Orange Days too. Ahh, Ayumi-chan. I really like the short hair cut she had towards the end. And that last scene with Shohei(hehe, another brother sister scene) was really great. A small role for Juri but the drama was awesome. The ending, I'd say that's what a real happy ending should be like. I feel 'manzoku'. I don't feel anything missing and there isn't a hole inside of me(like what LF made me feel).

Hmm, seems that Juri-chan has more fangirls than fanboys... Mr. Green

Eheh, from a poll recently conducted in Japan, "Which do you like more, Ueno Juri or Nagasawa Masami?", the result:

Juri: 75%(females) 35%(males)
Masami: 25%(females) 65%(males)

Lol~ Kinda expected huh? Especially after a character like Ruka. Wub
But notice that in total, Juri had 110% of the votes. Mr. Green

Another Tsumabuki Satoshi movie with Juri-chan as a supporting role, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish:

Love that poll Laugh

Thanks for these links ^Yuuki! Sorry to be clueless, but I downloaded them all, and only the first one seems to work - do I need to unzip them to one file or something (tried everything I could think of!). I notice the last file has a slightly different name (???). Megaupload site has no useful info on this. Is it because I'm using a Mac I wonder?

And thanks also to the person that posted the Sea Without Exit download tip! Much appreciated. thumleft

I'd love to help fix Deguchi's subs, but I want to enjoy watching it the first time instead of having to concentrate on understanding every word and translate. Laugh Are there no natural speakers of Japanese willing to help all us Juri-lovers out? Roll Eyes

I know some people who speak the language, but convincing them to sit there and tediously translate every spoken word is a hard sell. sweating
