lol, good job resisting.
It's not a matter of resisting, but she just doesn't click with some people.
Like me.
I suppose if I had seen Masami-chan in a drama or movie that blew my socks off like Juri-chan (Nodame, Swing Girls), I'd feel different...
On the flip side, females can be just as superficial/shallow: if they're overlooking Sosuke's DV because Ryo is playing the part, then they're no better... Maybe worse.

I always say that really beautiful people are beautiful no matter what their hairstyle is. And then proceed to show pictures of myself with short hair, long hair, no hair, an afro, red, orange, and blonde hair.... Let's just say people don't always agree with me.
If she ever wants to go diving here I'd gladly be her personal slave... errr... tour guide.
hairstyle changing is always awesome... orange hair, red... purple, blue... green... yellow, blond... shaved head.... mohawk, silver highlights.. eh~~ yeah, you get my drift
I just made a wise money investment into buying Juri's photobook, hahaha. Well... "wise" and my mother rolls eyes~ xD I also bought some Yu Aoi photobooks too.

Typical isn't it. Guys usually go for the obedient-looking, sweet and/or voluptous girls who can pamper them. Cos' strong and independant girls who do not behave like doormats are too intimidating and challenging for the average guy. Like bmwracer says, they're idiots. Heh.
Ruka is definitely a strong independent female, on the butch side. Nodame is more cutesy and childish. She fawns over Chiaki senpai and lets him smack her around (it disturbed me initially, but after watching a few episodes I got over it and accepted this as anime-ish acting where exaggeration is the order of the day, lol). But Nodame is not a weak character as we can see Chiaki fears Nodame when she really gets mad at him!
Btw, I do want to see Tsumabuki Satoshi collaborate with Juri again...Orange Days and Josee, Tiger and the Fish were excellent works but their characters didn't have a lot of meaningful interaction...except for some hot kissy scenes in Josee - I believe it was Juri's first onscreen kiss? She's lucky it was with Tsumabuki.
lichter - what happened to the download links you wanted to share? I didn't get your PM.

Yup... It's not the real world per se, so the slapstick is just that...

Nodame isn't weak by any means: she knows what (and who) she wants and is determined enough to get it...

Er, when I learned Japanese as a ryuugakusei all the girls spoke super-duper honorable respectable form most of the time in school. Or at least the normal form. When Nodame-chan gets angry (like that time with Paperfan-sensei) she starts using rather vulgar (by Japanese standards I guess) diction. I just find it funny cause she seems so lady-like and proper however silly.

aaaah~~ that scene indeed really funny.
I also like when Nodame kicked Chiaki and gave him a piece of mind in the SP.
She's really scary when she pissed off.
