I remember that there was special tv show about singing karaoke contest. The show has many comedians & talents sing karaoke and whoever get higher score win the round.
The show was hilarius because they also dress like the original singers. I really enjoy the show plus the songs also select from the best of every year.

Well, it may be karaoke, but it isn't referred to as such in this case. The Japanese call this type of show "monomane", which basically means impersonation. There is an annual New Year special with a similar name and feel to the Kouhaku Uta-Gassen, where the white team goes up against the red team. I haven't checked yet, but JPOPSuki will more likely have it on their tracker.
