| I'll vote for Hong Gil Dong over Iljiame. I know Iljiame is popular because of the actor in it but the story and directing are not convincing, there're many unexplained, if not flawed, parts, as the story goes on. Just my personal view.

In terms of character development and relationships, I vote for Hong Gil Dong. In terms of action adventure scenes, I vote for Iljimae. I love the actors on both of these dramas but there was something missing in Iljimae that Hong Gil Dong had. That's probably the way it's directed. Somehow, Iljimae didn't flow as well as HGD did in terms of plot. The acting was good in Iljimae, but there were too many holes in the story and keeps jumping from one thing to another. Iljimae did get better directing halfway, but Hong Gil Dong from the beginning to the end was really enjoyable to watch.
I would still recommend watching both if you really like fusion Robin hood like stories. But I think they should stop making anymore Robin hood like characters for a while since it gets old pretty quickly._________________
