I would not use veoh to download torrents. I personally really dislike Veoh. Instead, I recommend using uTorrent to download torrents.
There's also a tech forum thread where we talk about our favorite bittorrent clients.

Good question. I've used VEOH player, and I can usually download shows and movies within 30 minutes or less.
But I've changed to clubbox, and I now use clubbox pretty much exclusively for everything, I find its the easiest and best.

Thanks everyone.
@ethidda. I'll take a look at the suggested forum. I'm trying to get better acquainted with torrents over the holidays. I'm reluctant to download a torrent client though until I understand the technology a little better. I'm not a tech-head so this shouldn't take too long.
@Puppet princess. I know, I know, it's hard to believe that Veoh actually does something like this. At least it does so on the old player that I've used to download some videos. I've been watching and using Veoh for a while, but like so many formerly good sites (and applications), it's no longer nearly as good as it used to be. Ahhhh, the good old days! I've downloaded some shows in 20 - 30 minutes! That's faster than almost all the direct downloads I've used so far.
I understand that torrents are generally slower, but since Veoh started to convert most files to the FLV format, I've become interested in learning about standard torrent clients . . . but that's another topic for another forum, etc.
@pmhys. Since I'm finally learning about torrents, I might as well take the full plunge with clubbox, too! Ever since watching Coffee Prince (got the direct downloads from MickeyBaby's blog), I take an occasional peek at all the fun things that people are doing with clubbox.
Back to the holiday festivities!
Happy Holidays!

i hate to ask a dumb question...but...
are you sure its a torrent that you are downloading thru the veoh player? you aren't just doing normal veoh downloading?
i haven't heard anything about veoh supporting torrents, and i just checked their site again and didn't find mention of it.
if i'm mistaken, i'd love to know. but downloading a show thru veoh is not the same as downloading a show thru a bt client

Yeah.. I'm pretty sure you can't download any torrent through Veoh.... that's direct download.
You need to install a torrent client in order to download torrents, no way around that.

Freaky.
I still wouldn't use it for torrents though. utorrent gives you much better control.

| Veoh added peer-to-peer functionality in order to differentiate itself from YouTube. This is why Veoh has bittorrent capability. Unfortunately, Veoh does it suckily. Their player is just a gimmick to say "hey, we're not Youtube!" I'd just ditch Veoh completely for torrents, because utorrent is oodles better. But then, ethidda and puppet already said that...

yeah, even knowing now that veoh supports torrents....i wouldn't change to it.
from what you say...with so little control over the specifics of the torrent, i can't see how it would be preferable to a regular client.
every time i tried to run veoh back when i had it installed, it ate up all my processing and clotted my system. there are too many low profile bt clients to put up with all that veoh mess.
utorrent is my client of choice. its very simple to use and runs very small.
