This site has been very useful for those of us at the Reviewing the Kanji forums. Anyway, as one user has created a great program recently, I thought those in this forum may find it of use.
The idea is: Use the timing data from Japanese subtitles to: create audio blocks related to the time on the subs, create a small image that's from the mid point of that time, create line of dialogue from the Japanese and English subs. These are then put in a format that a memory flashcard program called Anki can use. I also think Supermemo and Mnemosyne programs can also use it.
Anyway, here's the link to the thread at RevTK Forums discussing it with links to download if you would like to check it out.
Please note, all the above programs are free (except for Supermemo, which I don't like anyway). I'm not advertising here, but I do hope if the above program becomes popular it'll encourage more postings of Japanese subtitles (how's that for a head fake?).

| Yes, I believe it works with vobsubs. However, instead of text being created from the subs (.srt or .ass files), it creates photos of the vobsub lines since they're in image format. Anki can then display the photos of the dialogue and the photos of the scene.
