I've heard ABS-CBN did a HDTV format for their series, "Rounin". But that's just it... all the rest are just the plain ones. |
I heard about a group that was planning on doing "Rounin". Any news on that?

hi. i am willing to join too.
but i want to point out certain things..
for subbing movies like toni's and sam, its easier to rip the subs from the vcd or dvds.
most tagalog movies are released really early and they all come with subs. just a thought because most of the tagalog films i have are subbed, which i can easily rip.
ive been meaning to do subbing too.. but to which dramas?
some .. most tagalog dramas are promising.. but they get wierd in the middle and preditable in the end... right? just me.

I agree. Most of them start off strong and halfway through, you can't help but utter a "WTF?!"
And after that, you just can't help but pray for it to end. But maybe this will work out if we choose which drama to sub wisely.

ack...! why didn't i think of that??? oh well.. i guess it all comes down to subbing dramas... so what would be the best project that other sub groups haven't taken up yet? |
I understand that very well... considering that Fil dramas usually have at least 100 episodes, it would be easy for us to get drained off and drop a project if the story gets boring in the middle.
But my idea for subbing something is not because of watching it per se; we are subbing it because we want our non-Filipino speaking friends to be able to watch it and know what they think of our own dramas. I know that we would do this only during our free time, but it also takes commitment to even start on this. Remember that our feeling for a drama is subjective; even if most Filipinos may find it boring there are others (maybe non-Filipinos) who'd find it amusing.
I say that, as long as there are people who's willing to support us, let's serve them and give them the subtitles they need. I hope that we use this as our motivation for subbing.
As for the drama, I already have started downloading Marimar, and I wanted it to be my first project. However, because I'm still subbing "Ang Tanging Ina", I wanted to get help with subbing it. I already have the tools for timing, but I really need the translators and timers to do the job.
Also, I only plan to release soft subs, as I don't want to mess up with IP rights by hard-subbing them. I'm located in the Philippines so I can easily get caught, you know

You mean to say, the films you already have are already subbed in English? If that is so, then we can't touch them anymore. We will only sub films that haven't been subbed yet. (unless the current subtitles are very lousy that it deserves a better sub)

I'm now preparing the raws that I got for Marimar and uploading them. I need help in translating this series. I've only started with Ep1 (about 25%) but there has already been 10 episodes aired on TV (don't worry, I got the raws now, just transcoding it to <100MB and uploading it in Megaupload).
I've already invited you in the Google Group, just accept the invitation so we could discuss further there!

waah me too i cant access neither of the two...too bad for me..
is there any option? i think rapidshare works for me... |
Well, they're still available via torrents at IPmart forums.
You just have to join the forums and start downloading torrents from that site. Too bad I still haven't gotten permission from Linyx (the original uploader) to post the torrents here. Still waiting for his reply...
IntangibleFS has recently used the Sharebee service (www.sharebee.com), which allows you to upload a file to them one time, and they will be the ones responsible for uploading it automatically to multiple hosting providers (rapidshare, megaupload, zShare, sendspace). I'll try that service as well to serve everyone.
