About The Lee Hom Fansubbing Project
I had this idea in mind for a while already because I see many great videos with interviews and guest appearances of Lee hom online and none has english subs. And like Rain and DBSK that have their own fansubs to sub these kind of videos, I think it would be nice to create one fansub just for lee hom's videos. it would help to promote Lee Hom to the world ('cause english is an universal language nowadays) & also we would be spreading lee hom love .
For those worried that it would take to much of your time helping on this project, I say to not worry much about this because we wouldnt be working in the same speed, intensity and pressure as asian dramas fansubs, for example. We would just work in our own speed and take as much time we need for this. Because I understand that everyone has their own real life and online duties.
So ... please! Any help is appreciated!

What's this project?
Like the name says, we'll be subbing to english videos with Lee Hom, especially his interviews, guest appearances in tv shows and other miscellany videos with him.

How can I help? Do I need to know how to sub?
You don't need to know how to sub to help us in this project, check the positions bellow. And if you know how to sub you can help with the technical subbing stuff.
Here are all the positions and stuff you can help us with. For the positions marked with a '*' you do not need to have knowledge in subbing stuff:

Translation* - Needs to know mandarin because in our case, i think, 99% of the videos will be in mandarin. Some videos might have Chinese subs which may be useful because you can translate based on the subs.
Timers - Will be literally timing the subs so that they appear on the right time it is spoken. Needs to know how to work with programs like subtitle workshop and other similiar timing program.
Encoding - Will be hardsubbing the video, trying to reduce size of video without losing to much quality, converting the videos (normally from .rm to .avi), add our fansub logo. Needs to know how to work with programs like virtual dub mod and other similiar program and also know about converting, working with filters and codecs.
Uploaders* - will be uploading the videos we release on direct download sites like megaupload, sharebee, rapidshare, gigasize etc. And also on youtube.
Raw Finders* - will be responsible to search for the videos we want to sub. For example, if there's a video available on youtube that we would like to sub, the 'Raw finder' will look over the web to see if there's a version of this video available with good quality (normally you'll have to search on chinese bitorrent sites). Or even send a message to the person that uploaded the video on youtube, asking where to find or if they could upload the video.
Quality Checkers (Translation)* - Needs to know mandarin and he/she will check if the subs were timed correctly according to the translation and if the translation is 100% accurate or if it makes sense!
Quality Checkers (Timing) - Doesnt need to know chinese, but need to know how to work with subtitle programs. Will check if the timing is correct and if there are any overlapping lines or errors.
Typesetter - Responsible for making the fancy stuff on the subtitles, like adding effects and positioning the subs on the right place. Needs to know how to work with .ass and .ssa subtitles |
Will it take to much of my time if I help with this?
Probably not because we won't be working in the same speed and pressure as drama & anime fansubs for example. We will take how much time we need to sub a video.
Once I apply what do I do?
Well, please be active in our forum (i'll send you the link and the instructions to you once you apply to help) and check it now and then, because we'll try to centralize all the fansubbing subjects there. That forum will be our work place, where you can suggest new projects (new videos for us to sub) and apply to work on the current projects (say if you want to help on translating , QC, timing , encoding etc...).[/quote]_________________

hello~ i'd love to help out x3
i've only been interested in kpop/kdrama stuff lately
so i'd like to try to get interested in other types of music as well
anyways, i can help out with:
timing
encoding
uploading
quality checking (timing)
and maybe typesetting
although im not that great with typesetting xP
but i can help with any of those :3
