The story focuses on young and talented swordsman Hu Fei (Nie Yuan), whose father (Anthony Wong) was killed while he was only a kid. In finding out the culprit, He Fei encounters a beautiful woman who is just as good in martial arts (Athena Chu), a Chinese medicine expert (Gillian Chung), and a young woman (Ady An) whose father Miao Renfeng (Alex Fong) is believed to be the murderer of Hu Fei's father. Will Hu Fei kill Miao Renfeng for revenge? The original novel never tells what happens in the final battle between the two - see if you can find some answers from the TV series!

Anyone heard of this series? seems like a really good wuxia series.

I watched earlier adaptations before. As for this version, I heard some not-so-good reviews about it.

There are complaints about the sotryline (ending gets changed from novel and it sucks), acting, costumes...basically almost everything gets bashed.

I remember watching the original when many moons ago when I was a kid. I liked it a lot back then. Too bad this may not compare based on the previous comments.

I LOVE the TVB 1986 version of this series; it totally kicked ass and followed Jin Yong's story sooo beautifully. Then, came the Sunny Chan/Charmaine Sheh version.... Crazy craazzzzy butchering of an otherwise gorgeous story.

I wonder how this version will fare out? Has anyone seen it? Any impressions so far?

I've seen it, the cast wasnt too bad, the acting was passable (when i mean passable i mean there wasnt 1 character which really appealed to me). But the costumes was terrible... This story was roughly set 100 after the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, but the some of the actors dont dress like they from that era. beside that i cat really comment on it much since i never saw or read this story.

So the one on BT now is in Mandarin .
I checked YesAsia and it's only Mandarin too.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a Cantonese version?
