We had to save the subs as unicode instead of ansi because since our last project taiyou no uta some people had problems with it. If you want to edit the subs with for example subtitle workshop, open the sub with notepad and save it as ANSI instead of unicode.
But I strongly advise you to use vobsubs anyway because the subs are made for it. Without vobsub you wont be able to see the subs appearing on top. For ep1 it was only 2 times to explain the meaning of a saying but there might be more important dialogue in future.

Thanks very much for the subs!
One suggestion: The expression which appears at approximately 6:00 in episode 1
人間万事塞翁が馬
is probably best literally translated as "All human affairs are like Old Man Sai's horse." It refers to an old Chinese folk tale about an old man named Sai, whose horse kept running away and then returning at first, bringing good things back with it, then later bringing bad things. However, the intended meaning you gave is therefore quite correct.

Now I realized what it meant hahaaha
After u experience gd things, bad things will come. After experiencing bad things, gd things will come in turn.
Read the folktale but forgot the title or phrase or something. So didnt understand "old man sai's horse"

This idiom came from China, meaning that the outcome of an event can be totally different from its apparent effect.
'Tao Libra' is correct on the first part of the story - the man's horses escaped the pan, but ended up bringing back a stallion (or mare) of very high quality. The rest of the story goes like this - because he successfully bred good horses, some thieve came and steal nearly all his horse - so getting the good stallion/mare turn out to be a bad thing. The man's son went off on a horse to go after the thieve, but fell and broke his leg. However because of this the man's son was spared when the emperor drafted young people to go to war.
I'm sure you get the meaning by now...
