I have a question.
Why not simply wait until MHfan uploads the video, and then time the subs to that? Then you wouldn't have to suffer the inane whining of absolute morons, but you'd also save yourself the time of getting and ripping and ~whatevering~ the RAW..... if you really think about, there's really only need for one person to upload the raw of anything....
And as for transferring files with alacrity... my first suggestion would be to "borrow" (or create) an FTP server. Of course, there's always mega-upload/rapidshare... but I'm not too sure on the size requirements for those sites.

Everyone, thanks a lot for all your posts encouraging me to go on. Yes I think I am tired, and a bit bewildered  I am new here, though I am not new to translating stuff, I am new to encoding stuff, I am still learning to make videos as is the norm here. Too bad that I have never used DIVX before, so I must learn from scratch to make DivX avi video. I have download the Divx bundle from divx.com, and I have also tried to encode my second episode using it, and the result is about 556 mb and the quality is better now than the one uploaded here. I will still try to improve it if possible. But the fault is in fact mine, because when I recorded episode 2, I forgot to change my TV recorder setting back to mpeg2. It was still MP4, and I did not realize that it would yield worse quality. If you guys want good quality video, I have now set my TV recorder to record at the highest level of mpeg2, which I think is set for digital. That way, i will have the best source possible on my PC. Then I will use DivX converter to convert this source to divx video.
As to the suggestion of just depending on MHFans RAW for me to sub, it is a good idea but that way I will learn nothing, from now on, even if Nodame Cantabile is over, I will still always have to depend on somebody's else's video and I will have to download it first. I believe in "give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man how to fish and he will eat his whole life"  So yes, please teach me how to fish..... If you still want me to actively contribute videos and subs in d-addicts even after Nodame cantabile is over, please teach me how to do it correctly and I will do it
About my softsubs, well, I have confidence my softsubs are not bad, what is bad is my video. No one complain about my softsubs yet, I think. Or not as far as I can remember. The fonts used to be big and someone said pls use font 20, so I did. If now font 20 is too small, OK I will increase to font 22 or 24. I cannot make up my mind yet about releasing my softsubs or not, I feel that if I release my softsubs, some people dont care about my videos anymore, be they RAW or hard-subbed. I think that if I only release hard-subbed video, then ppl will put more value to my videos (hard-subbed), regradless of its quality. That is how I feel. some ppl suggested that I only upload softsubs, and not worry about video, because in any case MHFans already upload the RAW and Seghal can always help to re-time/re-synch...but ummm...it is not as fun for me...I feel happy if I can release my own video too, feel as if I were some kind of producer, lol....I hope you understand how I feel....it is a joy to see my own video with the sub on it being downloaded and shared over the internet. Just softsubs, emmm......the fun is much less....
What about this, will you agree if I release my softsubs AFTER my hard-subbed video? Well, maybe most pople dont like it, but at least it is better than no softsubs at all. let me release it a week after my hard-subbed video, what about that? That way, I think more people will put more value to my stupid video

I think same way. I really like the MHfan quality video so I just hope someone softsub those ^___^

Siantut, believe me: make it your own way. Nobody has the right to tell you how you should work because you are the only one to decide. It's really kind of you to ask people their advice and I admire your modesty on this subject but I'm afraid there' ll always be people whinning or complaining about the video, the translation etc...and it's going to be an neverending nuisance for you.
Just set your rules and stick to them: all sensitive people here has realized you were a really hard -working and dedicated personn, no one criticizes you on that. Fansubbing is all about passion and pleasure, don't take t as a business where you are the provider and leecher customers:enjoy it at the fullest, this way, and this way only you'll do a good job 
If you prefer to release hardsubs, you have your own reasons and if you feel more comfortable that way, that's alright with me and should be alright with everybody.
i know most people prefer soft and i'm one of them, but I don't feel entitled to tell someone how work is to be done, as long as this person is kind enough to provide me with high quality subs. Whichever path you'll choose is allright with me.

@nadesico, thanks for your kind words, i admire your sense of fairness.
I will be working on the subs of Episode 2, so pls don't wonder if I am a bit silent here. I will release the hard-subbed video of Episode 2 as soon as I can. I will also be working on my HP at http://nodamecantabile.com, it will be up once it is ready.
I will release the softsubs about a week after the hard-subbed video is out.
I hope you all think it is fair enough.
@godsquare: no, you never offended me or anything, that is sweet of you to think of it but no, pls dont worry. Thank you for the nice thought.

Siantut: hm, I don't see the point in that idea of releasing softsubs after the hardsubs... some people will get the hardsubs, those who prefer soft subs will wait for longer but still wait, and the ones complaining won't really be affected...
But I agree with Nadesico's every word: just do it the way you prefer. Of course there will always be people who'd prefer it differently or even complain; if you look around at the other threads, there's always someone complaining.
Just look at the people thanking you for your work, ignore the ones whining, pay some attention to the suggestions other people make (because there's also lots of people willing to help, in many ways) and go on with your subs, if that's what you want, and in whatever way you want.

First of all, I haven't had a chance to thank you for subbing Nodame Kantaabire. So Thank you very very for taking on this project. I'm very glad.
I'm sure you've been very busy since this project's started. And I hope people would stop complaining about your work, especially when you're doing this on your free time. I haven't found any major problems with your softsubs, especially considering if this is your first project, you've done a very good job on translating and subbing it. I'm grateful for your work.
About the suggestion on the last paragraph of your post, I wouldn't mind having softsubs after the hardsubs are done. Softsubs are easier to download and view.

I have to say I agree. I love Nodame, and having raws out for an extended period of time is excruciating... I'm tempted watch them as is (only understanding 30% of what I hear) and ~spoil~ the story.
Granted, I'm downloading both the Raws and Siantut's hardsubs... but still.

Also, to me it seems like this whole thing has been blown a tad out of proportion. To my knowledge, there was only one single complaint... of the several topics here about Nodame, Siantut has recieved nothing but praise. And, in my opinion, it's deserved.

I support your idea of releasing softsubs a week after the hardsubs but do whatever you think is right. I would probably get the hardsubbed version to watch first and then get the softsubs later so that I can burn it on to dvd with the HD videos.

Here it is. The final version of the subtitles for episode 1. There are two versions, they are both timed to the 396p RAW by MHFans.
Version A:
Styled version in ass format for those who have vobsub installed on their computers.
You have to download the fonts too (extract the rar file to your windows directory).
Should be 95% compatible with the HD 720p RAW by MHFans. Though, a few formatings could be a little bit off.
Version B:
Plain version in srt format for stand alone players and for those who can't use vobsub.
As far as I know it is 100% compatible with the HD 720p RAW by MHFans.
Btw, it's no problem to have them both on your computer. Just switch between them by right clicking on the green arrow of vobsub.
