I just witnessed a school shooting today...
I was in the school...
it happened in the second floor conrod (cafeteria),
and i was in my english class on the 4th floor....
i went to get some chocolate in the vending machine while we were starting a movie in my class right before the shooting started
I came back to my class, out of breath because i ran as fast as i could to not miss anything
while i was watching the movie and eating my chocolate
it happened
shooting, ppl yelling, and others crying
ppl were running everywhere for their lives today...
i feel deep sorrow and i am also grateful....all my friends and I are alright
but some ppl died and others are injured...
I don't need to write any more since the whole world saw it on TV...
But i didn't write this to talk about my feelings but to know how any of you felt while you were in very great danger
if something like this ever occured to you
I, for instance, am speechless inside...I am just fucked up inside
I haven't cried yet...but I feel that I will be crying in my shower later tonight...
someone just tell me what you think, tell me/us if anything of that sort ever happened to you...
thank you

| Well something similar happened to me when I was like around 6-7ish. I was playing hopscotch outside with my friend and brothers and then these two guys came up to each together and stood in the middle of the road and then a heard a gun-shot but my brother grabbed me and pulled me inside before I saw anything.

I still remember the ‘89 Montreal Massacre; so it is shocking to learn about what took place this afternoon.
While I’ve never experience a shooting incident, I have witnessed people killed within very close proximity. It is normal to have flashbacks. In time, the shock should fade.
The best thing to do is talk with family and friends. Express how you feel about the experience. Don’t lock your emotions inside. Get consulting if you have difficulty sleeping or concentrating.

thanks guys
i really appreciate it...
what s really weird is that when we were getting out of the class, one of my classmates was half-laughing half-scared when she was telling me that she felt like in bowling for columbine!
when we found out was really happening, she was really speechless
regarding about what maddog said about talking about it to your loved ones,
i wanted to do that....i wanted to open up to someone, but that someone is in another country right now
i tried to contact him but it didn't work
therefore i remain distressed....
i will try again later
thank you for your replies!
it helps me to talk!

i also live in montreal, but i'm not from dawson college and i heard about this incident a couple of hours after it happened, cuz i was at school
i'm glad that ur alright nana_berryluv and nothing happened to ur friends neither
also, i have a close friend who studies in this college, he was in his computer class, and when that happened, the teacher closed the light and told them to turn off their screens and hide under the tables
and i have a friend (not a close friend) that i only know in the net, he knows someone whose friends were shot i hope they will be alright after they are hospitalized
and about the montreal massacre in '89 that maddog was talking about, it occured in the school that i study in (ecole polytechnique de montreal), 14 girls were killed by a man who didn't like women and then he killed himself_________________
