One question: Is it a bad idea to watch this without having seen Legend of Condor Heroes first? Because i don't have that one.

There will be some reference that you won't get but nothing that you can't probably guess at.

Its probably more confusing if you don't know the original story because they skip and cut out some events.

Damm, havn't read the book either. Well in that case i hereby hope someone re-seeds the 1st series soon.
Weird though that this one gets so many remakes and the 1st series not.
