This is my favorate J-Drama. I think this program reaches the level of high art, of the true tragedy of human existence, of how, despite our best intentions, terrible things can happen to those we love.
Great script, great acting, brilliant direction. In particular, Kimutaku shows a whole other side of himself in this drama. Sanma is also very effective playing against character.
I cannot thank enough those who did this project.
BTW, I just couldn't wait for the subs for the last episode and braved it raw (with a little help with Kan-Chan's Kansai-ben). At the end, when Kan-Chan is driving along listening to Sakamoto Kyu singing "Miagete goran Yoru no Hoshi wo" I was definitely crying along with him. (One very small point: I think subbing the song might have been a good idea.) The tragedy of Kyu-chan's death at roughly the same time in the JAL crash made the whole thing even more poignant.
