Anyone thought of having a rating system?
So it's not just the information on the series that we're using to decide, but more like the opinions of people who have already seen the shows.

Looking forward to having the rating system
All the Japanese stuff I would recommend are either movies or anime so I guess I don;t really have anything to suggest in this thread

Here are my thoughts on the weeks selection.
*Note simple and non descriptive (like me).
Joou no Kyoushitsu - Have seen 4 eps so far and they are fantastic. Not really a kids show too much tension. Voting for this one is not a wasted vote.
Family Values - No Idea
Konya Hitori no Beddo de - Haven's seen it but am voting for it.
Ai no Uta - Really good seies very dramatic / sappy. You won't waste a vote if drama is your thing.

^ bingo...
Remember that eligible series must be completed and subtitled in english. A list of eligible series can be found in the JSoTW Volunteer Seeding Thread . I try to keep the list updated with everthing that has been released here, on JTV, and Jem's trackers so it should be pretty comprehensive. Ppl can help out by posting or PMing when a new series becomes available in english subs...

Rating system,
I use the sort by option in Torrent-custom to get a listing of the "What's currently hot" (Sort by DL). This gives far more hits than the stats page.
I wish the cistom list could be sorted by "Done". If so I could see the top downloads of all time. It would be a good indication of popularity (if not quality). I know you can see a top 20 list on the stats page but that is only the top 20 torrents and typically only represents 5 or 6 series (if that).
I know off topic. Even so I would like to see the top 200 torrents of all time thier current activity.

alheab,
good argument, pretty persuasive. Kinda like vote for family values as it will be the last chance kind of thing.
Wondering how do the nominees for sotw get selected?

I take note of every nomination posted by D-A members in the JSoTW threads. When it's time for a new poll, I pick one or two from that list, depending on how many candidates I'm taking out from the previous poll. The availability (or non-availability) of seeds for a certain series greatly influences whether it appears on the poll or not.
