Appearently, this is the highest rated series in 2005-06

Surprised noone has talked about this. I believe this is a daily series running about 80 episodes.

it's not worth talking about.

It is one of the Kdramas catering to the older women. Such dramas were declining till about 2003, but are enjoying a very undeserved resurgence which is like a cancerous growth.

Its storylines are directly from the 70s, without even pretending to be modern. The success of such dramas suffocate the KDrama scene, which now has to depend upon Japanese marrow transplants.

The second placer, Goodbye Sorrow, also has the same theme, which they tried to disguise with Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan, practically the only person under 30 in that drama (the actress starring opposite him was 31).

It's like weeds crowding out good crops. KBS is worst, because it can't get big stars (since KBS is a govt owned station so there is a limit for how much it can pay) so they have to resort to cheapo dramas starring newer performers.

Unless KBS is privatized, I don't think the trend will change.

I think this drama has like 175 episodes. It's so long that i don't think people have the patience to watch this drama.

A knockoff Japanese drama, made on order. Not worth your time.

I've been watching since around episode 40, I'm on episode 152 right now. True I'm not much of a K-Drama connoisseur, nor am I into drama much at all (until recently), but this particular one's been able to hold my interest regardless.

I have been watching this drama. It has been the longest topic of conversation on another site with which I join in discussions. I was not an admirer of this drama... did not particularly like any of the cast. Knew quite a few of the older ones and enjoyed them in other dramas.
However, I have enjoyed the postings and opinions about this drama more than the drama. It is quite amazing how people have become truly addicted to the characters in the drama.
We have hilarious postings and impassioned postings and at times I do not post because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. We are quite a large 'family' which has been enlarged mostly because of this drama.

There is no doubt that kdrama is a real addiction.

As for me...well I am addicted to Takuya Kimura and Japanese film and drama.

But....it's nice to read the opinions of other addicted people.........both young and old...
