It wasn't completely that she lived in the tomb that she was so emotionless. One of the skills her master taught her supressed her emotions. Supposedly it was one of the factors of why she appears so young. I think there was a mention that if she had continued to practice the skill by the time she reached 100, she'd only look 50.
Just wondering, but what are the changes in the 3rd edition, I've only read the 2nd edition. I like most of the changes to XLN character, she was a bit boring before hand. From what I'm hearing about this series, I'm liking that the wheel monk saves Guo Xiang at the end. Does he still use her as a hostage during the fight with YG on the tower? I never thought that made much sense since he wanted her as his diciple.

I would like to thank everyone that shared their opinions. I guess I'm going to have to get this series and planning on getting the 95 version if it still exits. It just seems hard to get old asian drama. Thanks again.

thanks Bui! u've ruined the series for me!!! im gonna quit downloading this series
GWM had to use Guo Xiang as hostage because the Khan ordered him to... also im sure he was confident he could use her as bait, keep her safe and still able to kill GJ.

Wow. Kudos to the subbers and their team. I like this version very much. The relationship between XLN and Yang Guo is actually quite engrossing. Now, I'm not one for lovey-dovey non-comical romance in movies/series. It just doesn't do anything for me. I prefer watching relationships like that beween GJ and HR, cute and funny. That said, I think the YG and XLN relationship in this one (partly due to positive alterations of XLN's character in the third revision) is pretty touching.
I have one minor gripe with the series thus far, and that is the fight scenes. I'm not talking about the fight choreography itself, but more the introduction sequences that seem to be lacking minus a few important scenes. In ancient kungfu serials, before the good guy and bad guy start to fight, they usually stare at each other and have a minor dialogue that would build up the anticipation of the fight. In ROCH 2006, it seems like the director cuts out the introduction and the fight scenes start without notice. It kinda makes the transition from other scenes into the fight scenes rough.
Example **Episode 13 spoilders!! start!!**
In Episode 13, when YG is riding his horse to find the missing XLN, we see HR, GF, and the two boys riding somewhere too. When the Golden Wheel Monk sees them, he goes after them. Now here, one would expect to see the GWM confronting HR and her crew and spurt out some "haha, you ran to your demise" sort of deal and then the fight would start. Instead, we see YG riding back to where he comes from and then the scene immediately cuts to HR and GWM already engaged in a fight.
***Spoilers end*****
Iono, i guess it bothers me because I like tension and buildup.
That said, I understand we're not watching the complete version of the series. I know the production team had to shorten the series. I just hope that the "director's cut" edition will have all the minor cut out scenes intact and thus a better scene transition. By the way, does anybody know whether the complete version is indeed 55 episodes long? and whether the studio has any intention to release it? and if so how long do we have to wait?

Even though I like this version too, I still like the 1995 one. I dont know, I just think Carmen is a better actress than this girl. This girl only looks good from the front, but from the side, she errrg not that good looking. Carmen looks good from every angle. And also Louis Koo looks better and when he cry his eyes look better and very touching. Plus when Louis koo hair turns white, dammmmmmm, I'm not a gay or anything, but he look madd cool. Oh well, I still love the concept of it. Just wish they have better looking actresses, that more enjoyable to watch. I'm not complaining, still dling episode 13.
HAHA 3 reasons why you're gay
1. You think Liu Yi Fei the freaken cutest XLN ever is errrg not that good looking
2. You check out guys eyes when they cry and think its hot
3. You think Liu Yi Fei is errrg not that good looking...did i mention shes soooooooo freaken cute
Bonus Gay
Plus when Louis koo hair turns white, dammmmmmm
Pretty Gay dude
Carmen is alright...but she aint no Liu Yi Fei!!!
