Google for "real alternative"

The latest version, in addition to giving you Media Player Classic, also installs codecs which allow BSPlayer to play rmvb files. Since BSPlayer displays srt files, your problem is solved.

Just a side question---what is used to make rmvb files?

Hmm... The sub is all out of sync with the version of this series I downloaded... Any chance of resyncing?

I saw a sync problem too. BSPlayer can resync with 1 second resolution with ctrl-[left arrow, right arrow]. A little work with SubResync should fix the problem.

Oh my goodness ... the English subs are absolutely amazing!! It's definitely most accurate English translation for the series!

It doesn't sync with the video version that I dled. But it;s better than anything I hoped for. Thank you!

Thank you for the subtitles. I have watched it and retimed it to match files mentioned in the other topic http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_29499_120.htm.

For 2 episodes I used another version (ep 1 & 3 I believe) they can be found here http://chinkymovies.blogspot.com/2007/05/tvb-drama-under-canopy-of-love.html

I did convert the rmvb to avi first but that shouldn't affect the timing.

Just a warning I don't understand a word they said so sometimes I had to guess. Anyway have fun with it.
