 Great way to put it. I agree; I didn't bother thinking about these Dao eps when I reached the end, but it makes more sense in context with them. Some of the philosophy is a different way of approaching life, like saying how you have to experience something before you can turn away from it, which is why it's so hard to do. And the inaction/acceptance stuff. Hard to agree with sometimes, I think, but also hard not to see logic to.
ubnacci, my nick comes from an English novel called Howl's Moving Castle. (Yes there was an anime made but doesn't come close to the book, in my opinion.)
alina, This isn't really a sad ep. One of the sad ones is coming up soon, though.

ahh.. I wanna run home and add this to BT so it'll be done when I get home. Aii.. I'm at school right now.
But anyway..
as to how i found this series?
I was looking to what series pple had on their clubbox and reached upon the one w/this. Then..got hooked.
as to why i like this series?
The series itself: The flying pple? Just the whole ancient flying pple+humour+martial arts. Gets me into dreamland..
This series: The Eng subs are great! They're the best I"ve ever seen. Fansubs seem to always be better. It bugs me watching other stuff when I can very much tell that the subs aren't what's really said. It's my first Mandarin series that I'm actually "into".
what irritates me about xian jian?
hmmm.. I'm not sure? Maybe Ling'er is a bit too.. fragile. I think she might break. But then again this is a series so they're kinda like that.

reasonS why im hooked into this series:
1. i played the earlier versions of the video game while i was living in malaysia/singapore
2. reminds me of the shows i used to watch in singapore and malaysia
3. im filipino but i know to read and write and understand mandarin as a little kid (took mandarin school in malaysia and singapore for 2 and half years)
4. i get to practice to write and understand simple mandarin again cuz too many cantonese frenz i have and very few of them know how to read, write, and talk mandarin.
5. LYF is so damn hot but i fell sorry for yue ru!!!

I think know what you're talking about unfortunately.... too many MVs for me, argh!!!
As to how I found Xian Jian.... uh... actually was browsing other forums and saw it. Personally, I like Yue Ru over Ling'er better, but maybe that's because her character's more appealing to me. I think I'm usually attracted to the more spunky characters than the really goody innocent ones. <shrugs>
Btw, this is a good way for me to work on my Chinese. I speak Canto, but am basically an ABC, so my Chinese reading/writing is horrible and Mandarin is just as bad.

to be honest, I haven't really seen many Wuxia series. In fact, I think part of the reason I'm getting into them is because i've just recently come back to HK. Actually... come to think of it... I think Xian Jian is probably going to be the first I finish, unless I go on a binge and go through all of Eight Heroes first.

She has that ancient charm look. I grew to love Hu Ge after watching Xian Jian and I REALLY want someone to sub Tian Wai Fei Xian! Lol
