Kunitori Monogatari on TV-Tokyo on January 2 at 2pm is a JidaiGeki special that looks like it might have some promise, but it would be a major project at 10 hours total broadcast time.

A short and easy one would be Kaachan ga Kita on NHK-sogo on January 6 at 9:15. It's about a Japanese man that marries a woman from Vietnam. From reading many of the posts at d-addicts, we seem to have a large Vietnamese population here, so this might be of interest to many.

There's one special starring Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Ryoko Hirosue. The title is 「愛と死をみつめて」.
But I don't have the air date ^^;; I don't think it has aired yet, because it's a TV Asahi Spring Special drama.
