there's 4 subtitle files, 1 .sub and 1 .idx for each cd... the only difference between them is the format (ie the program you use to read them), but each file has all the subtitles (in all 3 languages, english, chinese and japanese) for it's respective cd... the easiest thing to do is use the .sub versions with bsplayer... just play the file, load the .sub file for the cd you're watching, then right click on the movie and go to the subtitle menu and select ENGLISH, as it defaults to chinese

Still I don't understand...
If one srt or smi does not work, Dust once said that the file may be
corrupted. (That's why he started adding sfv file to check integrity
of his smi file)
One offensive entry in srt or smi can either
1-- play avi with no subs. ( No green arrow at taskbar)
2- play avi with no subs. (Green arrow at taskbar visible)
3- does play avi with subs and subs disappear at one point
and never come back.
4- does play avi to a certain point and then suddenly player
itself disappears.
5- does not play avi at all.
If you say you can see subs with bunches of gibblish characters,
it means it is not English. It might be Chinese or Korean or japanese.
As I said before, I downloaded Azumi several times.
3 times at abmj. 1 time at ab.vcdz and 1 time from a.b.dvd.asian (
Img file) I made SVCD discs from the one from a.b.vcdz and made
DVDR from image file. ( I don't know how to replace sub with Dust
Off's sub. so when someone asks I offer SVCD discs.)
