Take OMS for example. After two eps, I was thinking to myself that it was going to be poor scrappy chef assistant Kimtaku chasing the rich princess. If I had quit there I would have missed out on one of my favorite "Holy Sh_t! Did I just see that?" moments. (Not to spoil it for anyone, I'll just say, it's around episode nine and involves a gun.)

I know exactly what scene ur talking about. That's one hell of a scene eh? It was just so sudden and twisted. It literally made me jumped from my seat when I saw it.
Kimutaku is sooo cool. he he he clapping

one more for the summer snow haters clan.......

I watched the whole series, and remember thinking at every tur: "Is it legal for something to be this corny?" Personally I was rooting for the doctor, even though it was short lived.... Somehow im happy with the ending....
************SPOILER******************************

Anyone that annoying shouldnt be alive at the end of the drama... I also felt the same way about Ha Ji Won and Jo In sung in WHIB, They just have to go, so even though the drama sucked Im ok with the conclusion because it fulfilled one of my wishes.....

I had to back it up and replay it two more times, once to be sure that's what happened and again to get back with the story. I love showing this show to Kimtaku fans, although sometimes it puts them into therapy.

I agree with you on the part about SOS, even a great cast like that can't help this drama from its poor plot and horrible actings. I basically slept through most of the episodes, it was just terribly utterly boring Crazy. I'm amazed that I finished the whole drama, though my attention on the happenings in the drama is near zero, lol, not that I need to focus my attention on it entirely to understand what's going on.

Mukodono, Strawberry on the Shortcake and Wedding Planner were all pretty damn awful. I didn't get past episode one on SOS, and Wedding Planner/Mukodono were like peas in a pod in terms of their predictability and episodic...ness. Very episodic, with weak, underdeveloped and cliched characters. YES IN BOTH OF THEM. Nagai is hot and all, but he couldn't help that mess. Food Fight and GTO are another two. GTO had the great manga behind it, but it was excecuted very poorly and so certain characters just grated on my nerves (particularly Matsushima Nanako's character. Speaking of her, Forbidden Love was another horrible one). And I swore towards the end that if I heard that bloody opening song again, I would tear my ears off. Of course I didn't, but still.

Actually, it would seem that I just dislike Matsushima Nanako and so I can't stand any of her dramas. Yamato Nadeshiko was bad to me as well. Antique Cake house, or whatever that thing was called...

Alrighty.

Here's my list.

Mukodono
Strawberry on the Shortcake
Wedding Planner
Food Fight
Golden Bowl
GTO
Forbidden Love
Antique Cake House? Shop? Store?
Yamato Nadeshiko
Last Christmas
Pretty Girls (GAG)
Ace wo Nerae

And I just have to throw this in, the absolute worst Cdrama I've ever seen.

"At Dolphin Bay"

It was the worst, but it was also the best. Know why?
The nuns. It was beautiful.

Even thought I watched it all the way through, MUKODONO was really really REALLY bad, imo.

It was like... SO idiotic! The acting was horrible, and the characters were all superb idiots themselves. I wish I had never wasted my time with it. Sad

Same, I'll go for Mukodono too. And waterboys... yaaaaaawn!

Summer Snow for me. I've loved ALL of the j-doramas I've watched and think they're much much better than k-dramas aside from this. I found the whole thing really cliched (no offense to SS fans) and predictable. I was a bit disappointed after I saw that it was placed #2 on the top 50 jdoramas list and everything....

I haven't seen nearly as many J-Dramas as the rest of you, apparently. I only started watching them recently, after discovering (and very much liking) the show Hero, on the JPopSuki site -- which made me want more J-Drama, which eventually led me here.

The complete list of everything I've watched so far is only: Hero, Trick (1, 2 & 3), Engine, Maria, Gokusen (1 & 2), Pretty Girls, Dragonzakura and Densha Otoko. (And of course, those last two aren't finished yet.)

Out of that list, the only one I've actively disliked so far is Pretty Girls, which was horribly saccharine, shallow and stupid. Every single one of the characters annoyed me, and the plot was incoherent. By the end of the series, I was almost wishing that someone would blow that store up with everyone inside it.

My worst would have to be:

Hero
Pride

Almost anything with Kimura in it - I just don't like (I can't stand his acting)...also in the case of Hero - I watched the whole thing and all the episodes (except for one) was not interesting. Pride - very boring as well - very formula (and yes I'm a big hockey fan and that's why I gave this one a shot) but after a few episodes I stopped watching.

Other ones that I didn't enjoy: My Husband (iboring), Files of Young Kindaichi S1 (only really b/c of my dislike for Domoto Tsuyoshi) and Local News Section 3.

It's true that pride is very formula, most (all?) dramas are very formula anyway. It's KimuTaku is a hockey player/Racing pilote/pianiste/ any sexy job you want, and he's good but facing some difficulties and add a love story on top (at first they hate but it's love in fact). You can do the same with the "I'm in love with someone whos' going to die at the end of the drama" type or the "love triangle" type. Most TV serials are formula, american series too. In fact it's the working principle behind that kind of stuff. I think that's part of the interst of that kind of programs: "how are they going to make something within the canva?". I enjoyed Pride quite a lot but I must admit my wife is same as you: she hates KimuTaku Big Smile . Well, he allways plays the same character so his acting is efficient but quite basic! Tongue But Takeuchi Yuko was really good in that one, in all the other dramas I saw her, her acting is quite pushy, based on a few "kawai" expressions...

I dont't think KimuTaku is a great actor. He's not able to play different kind of roles since he's allways acting in the same way. But sometimes it fits really good like in Beautiful Life or Engine (2 of my all time favourites). He's been in a lot of good dramas, but that does not make him a great actor.

Btt, here's my list of the worst J-Dramas I have seen:

1. Good Luck!!
2. Kimi wa petto
3. Kou kou kyoushi 2003
4. Maria
5. Virgin Road

I've seen that Kimura always plays a troubled person...with lots of inner angst, as a result he uses a lot of the same facial expressions. Long Vacation, beautiful life, OMS, he plays a mysterious person. But then again, actors always get the same roles if they get popular playing a certain type of role. Even my Tomobaby always plays gangster loudmouths now....if not gangster than loudmouth! He used to play a bunch of mysterious roles, but I guess he looks more like a gangster now Big Smile. Except in Mukodono where he acted soooo kawaaiii!!! (still a loudmouth though lmao). Anyway, I'd like Tomoya to be given a greater variety of characters to play, because he's the Best of Japan. ICHIBAN~!

How did I start rambling about Tomoya? ...ja
