I think it's kind of amusing how a thread like this is able to change topics to an "Summer Snow" thread. I enjoy Summer Snow, but for crying out loud let tikleabubble have an opinion without telling him he's wrong Tongue

Of all the drama's I have seen and watched through completely, Kimi wa Petto was my least favorite. And as for drama's that I had to stop watching in the middle of, I'd say Yan Papa was pretty boring.

To Heart and Food Fight. To Heart and Summer Snow are the only two jdramas I never managed to finish watching, while I don't have an opinon on Summer Snow - it simply wasn't my cup of tea.

I hated To Heart very thorughly and it didn't improve at all when I set to watch eps 2. So I quit.
Food Fight is the absolutely worst jdrama I've ever watched to completion.

While the above two have a common denominator somewhere, let it be said I liked Strawberry on the Shortcake and Oyaji (or was it Otousan) that had the same ingredient.

I think the worst drama for me was "Soori to Yobanaide". This one had such a great all star cast, but was soooooo boring! Gee, it took me years and years to finish it (I had hopes that if I kept watching it, it would get better!) I also didn't like Dekichatta Kekkon, the pairing of Takenouchi Yutaka and Hirosue Ryoko just didn't match for me (especially since they were in Beach Boys and Long Vacation together).

I think someone mentioned under-rated dramas too. I think Nagura Onna (Boxing Woman) with Wakui Emi is a good drama, but lots of people never even heard of it. Definitely one of my faves.

doinkies liked Summer Snow, even the cheesy ending...

But yeah, Pretty Girls and Oishii Kankei were pretty boring and doinky. Lunch Queen is a much better food-related J-drama than Oishii Kankei.

Hmm... Food Fight is to me the worst drama I ever finished watching. Fighting Girl is the worst drama I couldn't complete watching (and I bought and uploaded the damn thing. Go figure....)

Even thought I watched it all the way through, MUKODONO was really really REALLY bad, imo.

It was like... SO idiotic! The acting was horrible, and the characters were all superb idiots themselves. I wish I had never wasted my time with it. Sad

I LOVED Mukodono. Thanks to Mukodono I discovered Tomoya Nagase! I am forever grateful to d-addicts for making Mukodono the JSOTW, thanks to all who voted for it! It was my second jdrama. After watching a Million Stars Fall From the Sky I didn't see any incredibly hot people, so I decided to stick to kdramas, but then I saw the Mukodono JSOTW banner and what do I see? TOMOYA NAGASE. So then I started searching for all his dramas, and now I am open to watching jdramas, though I still like kdramas better. Anyway, another drama that wasn't my cup of tea was Long Vacation, another overated kimutaku drama. Sometimes I think his dramas are all on the top 10 list on jdorama is b/c he's in it.

Beach Boys...........I thought after the first 2 or 3 epsisodes it would pick up. It never did so I didn' t bother watching the rest of it. I happened to like Pretty Girls personally and Summer Snow. SOS was the bomb, it was like watching soft porn at some points. Though both generally good dramas I felt both seasons of Kou Kou Kyoushi were a bit too dark for my taste. Love Letter was a major let down at just the 2nd episode.

Ditto on Kou Kou Kyoushi. And here I thought I was the only one. Lots of people love it but I am not one of them. Tongue Hated the first one so I didn't bother to watch the second series.

Mukashi no Otoko. Boring and they keep flashing back to the damn love scene over and over and over and OVER again.

Kinyobi no koibito tachi e (I think that's what it was called)
Holy crap, the melodrama galore....I watched this many years ago, so I don't remember much about it, but to this day it still burns a hole in my stomach thinking about it. I have no idea why the heck I bothered finishing this one since it was just a whole mess of pathetic female insecurities over a dour, ex-piano maestro turned security guard...Arrrgh!

As for To Heart....I have to admit that some days I like some teeny parts of it (I blame the catchy music), but overall it is just creepy fangirl/stalker city!
"Ai wa power!" my foot! Any self-respecting citizen would have slapped a restraining order on that chick at some point during her obsessive clinging phases... Crazy
Kyoko Fukada at her most whiny and air-headed....*shudder*

I'm in the Summer Snow was pretty lame camp as well but I did sit through all of it.
One thing I think should be said is that giving up on a dorama after one or two eps may cause you to miss out on what could become your favorite dorama.

Take OMS for example. After two eps, I was thinking to myself that it was going to be poor scrappy chef assistant Kimtaku chasing the rich princess. If I had quit there I would have missed out on one of my favorite "Holy Sh_t! Did I just see that?" moments. (Not to spoil it for anyone, I'll just say, it's around episode nine and involves a gun.) I also wouldn't have come to love Fukatsu Eri who only plays a minor role in the beginning. I thought OMS would be a mediocre romance at first but it turned out to be one of my favorite doramas. (Anyone with Fukatsu Eri dorama reccomendations?)

As for the polls, I use them less to determine what I might like than I do to see if I'm a misfit or not. In other words, looking at the polls I'll know that if I badmouth something I don't like, as in Summer Snow, I can expect a certain reaction.

My favorite lame dorama is Golden Bowl. I knew it was lame while I was watching it and I still don't know why I like it.

LOL, I have to agree with you on Fukada, but I did enjoy the series Tongue

GTO - wanted to give up afterep_2 or ep_3; finally gave up persevering to ep_5, the last ep and the movie. Didn't like the great teacher himself.

Kou Kou Kyoushi- didn't like the story and the teacher's acting was whiny. Love story and acting just weren't convincing.

Love Generation - can't stand the girl. Deleted the series from the hard drive; don't want to ever seed this series for anyone, even though KimuTaku is my top actor.

Summer Snow - watched to the end; wondered why I watched it (because of the ratings and reviews) and felt I could have used the time for another series. Deleted this series from my hard drive, too.
